The staff were very helpful and always available. They don't lock up at midnight; like some of the less expensive hotels in the area. The only complaint; the air conditioners don't work. So don't go in the summer, unless you aren't bothered by the heat and humidity. The swallows that live in the halls and fly around the courtyard are... more

I had to cancel my trip, I followed their cancelation policy. I contacted them on time with a question I had in order to cancel, they did not respond until almost 3 weeks later until it was too late to get reimbursed. a few hours too late. I will follow up with the mexican authorities. If you need to cancel... more

I stayed at this hotel for only one night at the end of a trip alone. The hotel is beautiful, very bright and airy. It is a Mexican style hotel, meaning most of the rooms face into a courtyard. My room had a balcony onto the street and a little window out into the courtyard. The hotel is full of... more

I don`t know what people are thinking they will get for $40 a night. Really, do we travel to have all the luxuries that we have at home..The Hotel Encino was clean, the staff were friendly, the location was amazing.. I took my bf there for his first time travelling in Mexico after I had lived there and visited numerous... more

Booked a 7 day trip to Puerto Vallarta and pre-booked a room at the Hotel Encino as the website says it is kept clean and nice. If you like bugs and Lizzards in your room then this is the place for you. Had a wonderful view of the brown river....yuk. Great location as it was right by the Malecon but... more

I stayed at the Hotel Encino the week of June 2, 2008. The room appeared clean enough but when I laid down on the bed I felt a biting sensation on my back. It was hot and humid and I thought I was just imagining it. The sheets were very old and thin. The bed was hard. The pillows very... more

I stayed in the suites connected to Hotel Encino Dec 11-16th. Location is perfect, you can walk to the beach or downtown area. Right on the border between South Side and Downtown/Northern Hotel Areas. The Staff were extremely friendly and let me use their phone to make local calls. We even chatted and joked around, the front desk guys were... more

After staying at a 5 star in Nuevo Vallarta in 2007 (Vallarta Palace) we really wanted to experience something that was more authentic. The Hotel Encino fit the bill. Although it is obviously an older hotel and lacks the shine of others it's definitely worth the 42 bucks a night we paid in March 2008 for 10 days. We booked... more

I stayed for 3 nights at the Encino a few years ago, great location, cute rooms, beautiful courtyard and amazing views from the rooftop pool. Only negative is it's a little noisy. more

I'll start with the good... Location is good. Close to the Malecon - 2 blocks.. and price was reasonable at about $50US per night. The pictures make this hotel look a lot nicer than it is. It is adequate but not very clean... older - needs a remodel... small concrete cell like rooms.. loud grungy AC units.. Had to look... more
