I stayed here in an economy/standard room. I did not expect much because I only paid $35ish usd before tax. I did get one of their remodeled rooms. The room size was small but acceptable. Pros: The toiletries they offer were organic and look very nice. The tv was big and flat screen. The design of the room was basic... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel from 3/9/2015 to 3/20/2015. Four days after we returned home, he came down with Legionnaires disease and had to be hospitalized with life-threatening sepsis. After doing two interviews with our county health department for the CDC, and discovering on TripAdvisor that others who'd stayed at this hotel during the same month ALSO... More

Dear Kevin, The health of our guests is paramount to us at Hotel Rio. I have personally run the hotel Rio for 21 years and have lived in the hotel for the same amount of time. I bathe in the same water, use the same A/C, laundry and all the services that my guests use. None the less I have... More

We came and went off the hotel Rio and each reservation was so different from the other. First we booked for one night. The hotel was full so they gave us a better room than what we booked for. Thanks! The room was clean and new, but too noisy in my opinion. You could hear the pool cascade and the... More

We recently visited Puerto Vallarta and stayed at Hotel Rio Malecon. We LOVED our stay here. The rooms were very clean, staff was extremely friendly, and the price was great. The hotel is about a half a block from the ocean and the Malecon boardwalk. We always felt safe in the area and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for the second time from Mar.29-Apr.3 2015. Again, we were extremely happy with our stay. The front desk staff were very pleasant and attentive on all shifts .Any requests that we had were promptly addressed. The restaurant continued to have great tasty food that is well presented and reasonably priced. Thank you... More

My girlfriend and I found this boutique style hotel as an alternative to the high dollar all-inclusive resort vacation. It is centrally located in old-town Puerto Vallarta, steps away from the cultural boardwalk scene and beaches. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the bartender, Moses, and his colleagues were friendly, courteous, and helpful from start to finish. Every... More

I was here during the weekend of March 21st, 2015. This hotel is in very nice location -- everything is within walking distance. The main part of Malecon area is just a couple of minutes walk, basically a block away. Right across the street there are lots of shops. Attached to the hotel, there is a very nice restaurant --... One block away from the malecon. Right across the street from the souvenir market and within walking distance to anything in Puerto Vallarta. It is very noisy both day and night. It's right off of a busy street and there is an open bar downstairs. The open courtyard design of the hotel allows all kind of noise from every direction.... More

This hotel has a great location. It is walking distance to all of the main sights in downtown Puerto Vallarta. For example, it's a short walking distance to the Malecon boardwalk, the Romantic Zone, Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Isla Rio Cuale outdoor market, Los Muertos Beach and Pier, and numerous restaurants, shops and galleries. The room we had... More

The room was an EXCELLENT value. I stayed for two weeks. The meals that I ate and drinks I consumed in the COXIST CAFE / LOUNGE were above average. Very appealing presentation, tasty, service was efficient and the price was very reasonable. The windows were open to the street and pool area everyday and gave a refreshing breeze while dinning....
