Been there by chance...a small, cosy and natural piece of paradise away from the caotic chaos of the huge and exploited Hotel area of Mazatlan....but close enough to be reachable very fast by boat and at any time.

The Isla is a little treasure - so close to the city and yet rural, relaxed and friendly. We loved our stay at Gary & Anna's hotel. Our rooms were large, airy and very clean, with comfy beds & beautiful ocean views. Gary & Anna helped arrange many extras during our family's stay - transportation, massages, even a chiropractor's visit... More

This is a nice catamaran trip with a banana boat ride, horseback riding, snorkeling and kayak option. We paid for two activities. We did horse back riding and the banana boat. Very fun. Lunch is provided and is excellent. We had the chicken option. They have an open bar and they arent stingy. You can go back as much as... More

Our first night in La Isla de las piedras we ended up at a hotel that was closed for renovations. Since it was dark and late, they let us stay. When we woke in the morning we were forced to find a new place to stay. Stone Island Gardens is the only other hotel on the "Island." We considered heading... More

Cycling past the hotel on the way to the campground on Isla de Piedra the owner Gary offered to let my boyfriend and I pitch our tent in front of his family's hotel/ restaurant. The hotel is located on the main road heading to the beach. Gary showed us the rooms of the hotel. They were very spacious, comfortable, clean,... More

Rooms in the new building were efficient and excellent. This was a place we enjoyed away from the Golden Zone-extreme relaxation. The town of Stone Island was safe and typical of non-tourist Mexico. Anna was a gracious and beautiful hostess. Her and Gary’s pride in their family business is apparent. Ask her about anything you need during your stay- she... More

I've been traveling to Mazatlan for almost 10 years now. I own a timeshare in the penthouse of one of Mazatlan's most renown, established, and upscale resorts. Every year, I arrive a few days before my check in date to maximize my actual days on vacation (vs days taken off work). This has made me intimately familiar with the full... More

This is a fantastic place to hang your hat for a while. Be it a few days or a month - you can not go wrong. Ana and Gary are fantastic hosts both in the hotel or the restaurant. The rooms are spotless and well maintained. The maids do a fantastic job keeping up the rooms during your stay. I... More
