The reservation was not honored and we had to pay more for the location we wanted in the complex. They then insisted on photocopying our passports - in incredible opportunity for identy theft- and never asked at the resorts or condos I have visited. Utterly without precedent, without need. They also demand to have charge card information. We had cockroaches,... more

I have been vacationing in Mazatlan my whole life. I started going there with my grandma when I was little and I am still going there now, but this time we are taking 75 of our closest friends and family and I am getting married! There is no other place I would stay than at the El Rancho. This place... more

This was our first visit to Mazatlan and the El Rancho Resort helped to make it a memorable experience. El Rancho is a homey setting of single villas as opposed to the monsterous high rise resorts that surround it. El Rancho has a private beach right on the ocean. The staff at El Rancho were all very courteous and helpful.... more

We have been vacationing at El Rancho for about 18 years and love it more every year. It is a small intimate property situated on the beach. The two storey two bedroom two bathroom units are like home. The full kitchens means you can just relax and not worry about going out for all meals though the restaurant on site... more

We really enjoyed this place in 2007 and we went back in 2008. We found that the staff was very attentive and really focused on our needs. Its was not a frilly type hotel but what is lacked in frills it more than made up in how the staff treated us. I have not found that type of customer service... more

We are timeshare owners and usually make the trip once a year, every June. We like the small and quiet resort, it isn't a large, busy place like some of the surrounding resorts. The trip to town is easy and inexpensive and the buses come by frequently. The quality of the food in the restaurant is very good, staff is... more

Our family stayed at El Rancho for a week long winter vacation getaway in mid-February 2009. We have four children ranging in age from 8 to 16 and the spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bath villas with full kitchens, dining table and sitting area suited our needs perfectly. The resort's location direclty on a beautiful and uncrowded stretch of beach was... more

Dear Briantand, I’m delighted to hear that El Rancho met your needs so well! The owner and architect of El Rancho, Otto Schott, who places great value on family, designed the resort and the villas with families in mind. That’s why the villas accommodate 6 people comfortably, not only with enough beds, but with space and furnishings that allow you...
