Well, I went to El Cid Castilla Mar 23-30 with 2 of my girl friends. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: -staff is really really really friendly! They work soo hard and they always go out of their way to make you happy! Never too tired to give you a smile! (Make sure you tip!! They practically live on... More

My friend and I stayed from March 17-24 All Inclusive at El Cid and we both absolutely loved it! The best part of El Cid is the staff, especially the afternoon servers at the poolside restaurant and La Pergola restaurant at night. Be sure to sit in Ramon's section, he was our favorite server along with Kristopher, Adan and Jose... More

We just got back on Sunday (3/24/07). Here's what we think - If you stay in the towers (which we did the first night) - it can take up to 20 minutes round-trip for the one elevator (small) that works. We had to, many times, walk up and down the 7 flights. Our room had the air conditioning compressor in... More

As a mature couple, we stayed at the Castilla from March 10-24 '07, all inclusive. Very well located. We had a huge room with a fabulous balcony that had a 180 degree ocean view. Spectacular sunsets every night. A problem with the toilet was repaired within 30 minutes. Disappointing that there are no coffee makers or little fridges in the... More

It was an amazing trip. Not only was the food good, the bedrooms nice, the pool clean, and the staff super friendly the over all vibe of the hotel was bright and inviting. The staff works super hard to make everyones stay memorable and comfortable. The pool was big and the beachs were kept clean. The hotel is family friendly... More

The El Cid is a great resort for the bargain price you pay for it. Here are the negatives: Only 1 tiny tiny elevator works for 21 floors Checking in and out can be a very slow process The food leaves much to be desired, even at the nicer restaurants Here are the positives: The waiters are absolutely wonderful and... I just returned (Feb. 18-22) from a quick solo trip to Mazatlan for the "Carnaval" where I stayed at the El Cid Castilla Beach. The hotel is very nice, very clean and in a great location. The amenities are perfect for families and adults. The rooms are big, have cable TV, balconies and excellent bathroom facilities (e.g. hot water and... More

We stayed at the El Cid Castilla in early February and had a great time. We were with 20 family members including nine kids and this was a great place for kids. The beach had enough surf for boogie boarding, the sand was nice and clean and the pools were huge. One had a waterslide and a waterfall you could... More

We had a great time. The staff goes out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Pool was fun, got to get seats staked out early. People seemed to respect claimed seats. We took the all inclusive package and found it well worth it. Drinks tended to the strong side. Food was tasty and good selection. Elevators were inadequate,... More

This hotel has so many problems on my list, I don't know where to begin. So I'll start with the positives. First, the views are excellent. Assuming you can get a room facing the ocean. Second, the service is excellent. Staff is very friendly, and will take care of anything you need. That is, short of fixing anything major. Now... More
