This was my second trip to the El Cid Castilla. I was there 10 years ago with my son, sister and girlfriend. This year I was there with a girlfriend for the first week and two other ladies joined us for the second week with for a "bridge" holiday. We were in room 5103 in the main building with a... More

This is our second time here now at the El Cid, and the staff here is amazing! They sure know how to make you feel at home and treat you with the upmost respect. When you go to the Castillia be sure to eat at the restaurant closest to the ocean and ask for Antonio to be your server! AMAZING!

We had a wonderful family vacation. The location of the hotel is great. Great beach access and walking distance to shops and restaurants. This was our second time to El Cid and we will definitely be returning. The pool was great for the kids, two slides and a jumping area (to jump into the pool). We had no problems getting... More

Our 3rd All Inclusive stay was very good. My spouse golfed at the hotel's affordable 3-9hole-courses across the street. I worked out at the well equipped gym (inclusive). Our 12th floor Castilla room had a great view of the ocean, beach, pool-deck and surrounding city. Like the other years, no rainy days on the pacific. The Actividades personnel were awesome... More

We stayed at the El Cid Castilla from January 29 - February 5. Let's start with the arrival at the airport, once you clear Immigration and Security there are people there directing you to a wall of sales people (they look official) -- ignore these people as they are trying to sell you tours right off the bat and waste... Just returned from a two week stay at the El Cid Castella. We were happy with it overall. We had a large room on the 12th floor with a king size bed. Mostly quiet, but did hear some street noise. The views were amazing and enjoyed many beautiful sunsets. The bed was very firm but we like a firm bed... More

My biggest complaint was the cost of WIFI. Last March, we paid $35 Canadian for WIFI which I thought was expensive but manageable. This year I was so frustrated that it cost $90CAD the first week, $92.50 the second week, $95 the third week and had we stayed longer it would have cost $100 per week. For the amount I... More

The good: Nice, clean room on the 14th floor with a great view of the pool and ocean. Pool was warm, lots of loungers available, pristine beach. The bad: In our experience, All Inclusive guests are treated like second class citizens. We had to chase down waiters to get drinks at the pool and lobby bar (waving at them, calling... More

We just spent two weeks here. From the fourteenth floor the views are excellent. The rooms and public areas are very clean. The beach is nice but busy with venders. The surf is fairly rough but many guests did swim in it. The swimming pools are very nice and the Castilla pool was warm. The pool bar is nice and... More

This hotel/resort is very much what you would expect from a beach resort in Mexico. The rooms were comfortable but not luxurious and had a lot of hard surfaces. This is understandable and expected since you are in a beach environment with sand and high humidity. The beds were comfortable and I was very impressed with the overall cleanliness of... More
