Hotel's Favorite
I've read some Karen reviews about this place, but after being here a week, I can honestly say I am so sad to go home tomorrow. I am a General Hotel Manager myself, & this place is fantastic. The beds are heaven, the pillows awesome, the restaurant was superb for ALL meals, grounds are immaculate, linen are dazzling white, staff was on point & ALWAYS friendly--American culture is to complain about everything but we loved every minute here. Lots of shopping in walking distance, this place is a slice of heaven. So glad the mother-in-law chose this hotel for the family, we love it!

The location is great, the pool area is very nice, and the restaurant "condimento" is great during the breakfast buffet. However, I would not recommend the hotel for the following reasons: -My room was ugly, dated, and in bad condition. Additionally, there were bugs in the ceiling. -The hallways in the hotel smelled bad due to the garbage being stored outside on the bottom floor (I have pictures) and the open property next door having a garbage disposal area right next to Emporio hotel. -The valet parking took too long to bring vehicles to customers. -The bar was attended by young people unaware of customer service, the waiters and bartenders needed to be trained. Some waiters would charge you for drinks before delivering, and others would not. Most customers had to go to the bar because waiters did not approach anybody for orders or drinks. Lastly, the bartenders would play music randomly and stop/interrupt the songs if they did not like it, making it very annoying. -It was very inconvenient not being able to bring coffee, water, or food to my hotel room. I recommend the hotel for the breakfast buffet. It has a great view, and the service during breakfast was good!

Room Tip: Get the Suite if you can afford it, the other rooms in my experience are very dated with a bad view.

To start with, do not trust the photos published of the hotel. they are all photoshopped. Besides, if you are searching for a room where to relax, this is not the place. they have all kind of extremely noisy private events from mid afternoon to late night (all week long) and there is not place to hide from the uncontrable decibeles produced. Also the maintenance of the place is behind its needs and the staff is not responsive, not following up claims. We had to wait more than half an hour to get our room door opened to let us in, as the battery of the lock stopped working. Then they told us that it will be repaired asap while we were at the pool and… 3 hours later it remained the same, making us to loose more time of our short holiday while the staff figured out how to change a battery. I have never given such a bad opinion, but believe me, the administration has to fic a lot of issues to make it comfortable to stay. The rooms are clean, but the only point I give is for the restaurant: ONLY AT THE RESTAURANT: the breakfast buffet is very good, the staff, service and atmosphere is pleasant there.

Booked what was supposed to be an 11 night stay. Stayed one night only because it was too late to change hotels. We paid $230 per night for a junior suite. The photos made it look awesome but the photos below were the reality we encountered. Pull out couch and kitchen chairs were stained and dirty, and the table still had food on it from the last guests. The bathroom was mouldy and had leaks painted over and the light switch was disgusting. There was black mould in the air conditioner and furniture, the drawers wouldn’t close because they were warped. My son didn't want to sleep in the bed because the room was so gross. This is not a $230/night hotel. It’s a $60/night hotel. We checked out after staying ONE NIGHT. UPDATE: When I got my VISA bill and WE WERE CHARGED TWICE. The Authorization to hold the room went through as a transaction and then they charged us AGAIN. When I spoke to the manager he said he would look into it and that he didn’t understand how the authorization had gone through as a transaction. When I disputed the transaction with VISA The Hotel fought it so now three months later I am STILL WAITING for them to refund $2300 CAD. WORST HOTEL EVER.

We went to Mazatlan for our 8 year anniversary and booked a junior suite. Upon arrival, we met the manager Arnuflo who learned it was our anniversary and decided to upgrade our room to help us celebrate. When we got to our room there was balloons and a note for us! It was so sweet! The room was AMAZING! The bigger balcony, the hammocks, we spent majority of our time that we were in the rook, on the balcony. Absolutely amazing views, the staff was very patient and nice. My Spanish is definitely not the greatest, but everyone took their time to listen and understand and was just fantastic. Our house keeper was fantastic as well! Just an overall great great trip! Arnuflo and his staff are fantastic, and for us, his English helped us TREMENDOUSLY. Highly reccomend staying here for those that may not be the best with Spanish! The staff still treats you great! Thank you all!!

As a professional planner, I have never had a better experience setting up a wedding in another location that at Emporio with Lizbeth Cedano. She was incredibly helpfull and thorough. Using this hotel as a venue with the help of Lizbeth is the best option in Mazatlán!

Estuvo muy bueno, el servicio excelente pero les hubiera dado cinco estrellas si no tendrían la parte de atrás en remolida. The service was good but it would’ve been rated 5 stars if the back side overlooking the beach was open and not in a remodel phase.
