I was at this resort/hotel with my family who were travelling with a larger group for a week. This hotel was reserved through the group leader, but I would have picked it as well and would return next week if I could. Really interesting architecture, great decor, great location, clean linens, wonderful views from both sides of the building, we... More

I just returned from my 8th stay at the Royal Villas and was happy with my stay yet again. Like others have said if you are looking for a large All Inclusive resort than the Royal Villas may not be the best place for you. It is a smaller hotel (by Mexican resort standards) but the location and staff make... More

If you are looking for a cookie-cutter resort that can be plopped down in Mexco, Jamacia or Costa Rica, than this is not your place. This is not a resort but a mexician hotel on the ocean. No buffets, entertainment, or selection of restaurants...but beautiful rooms, beautiful views, excellent food and individual attention from the staff because it is so... More

My wife and I vacationed at the Royal Villas from December 8 to 15. The rooms were of 4 star quality..clean, comfortable beds and well appointed. The 4 stars ended there. The hotel is small with only one bar (at the pool) and one à la carte restaurant (no buffet except at breakfast for the first 3 days). The restaurant... More

Arrived at Royal Villas December 6th...for a weeks stay all-inclusive. Was a very nice looking property. The room we were given was room 322...front of the hotel. Very large with 2 large balconies/patios....only problem was the noise from Gus Gus across the street until 3 am.... Also the fridge with snacks, beer and waters was empty. The morning of the... Spent a week at this resort not being sure what to expect as we have only mainly stayed at Sandals resorts in the past. Sandals this resort is not but it was pretty nice. The food was very good every day, and the beer was cold. We had a junior suite on the south side after we changed rooms because... More

Royal Villas is NOT a resort as they claim. It's just a hotel. Very poor service from the bar.. One bar with bar man but no waiter for the lounge, pool or beach areas. Breakfast buffet closed half way through our visit,. meals came from kitchen if you wished to wait an hour or so. Lunch must be ordered from... More

We really enjoyed ourselves at Royal Villas. The staff were outstanding and kind! Very friendly and helpful. The food was incredible (truly 4 star and beautiful presentation, amazing) with a an excellent array of choices, sometimes we had to give ourselves enough extra time to make our choice from the menu or take the special for the day - a... To be fair the surroundings in the hotel and resort are wonderful. The room was nice and the beds were comfortable if you could get past the world's roughest sheets. (I would have preferred the table linens to the bed sheets!) The pool was heated, which is a luxury and the hot tub was a nice touch at the end... More

We returned to Royal Villas Oct 24-31, 2011. I am not going to go into layout of rooms etc. as I have done that on previous reviews. We stayed in a 2 bedroom Tulum unit, which has ocean front view and 3 or 4 balconies LOL. The resort has done some repairs and such so all is in good shape.... More
