WE had a great time. The entertainers were fun. Loved "Bob" and the crew! Would go again during a slow time. The beach seemed to go on forever and the view from our room was perfect and we could hear the ocean all night. We stayed on the North side which was the quieter side I would suppose as we... More

I have read all the reviews up to date and most reviews are pretty accurate. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Riu from Dec 19-26th. I have stayed at other all-inclusives, but have had very different experiences than the Riu. The Room: The room is an appropriate size. The decor seems a little outdated (which is strange because the... More

The hotel was perfect; location, staff, service! Rooms were always clean, bartenders were amazing! Met lots of people from all over the place! Best travel experience to date. Will definitely go again! Only issues...elevators (very slow and not enough of them) and the wireless internet access hardly ever worked in the lobby

The hotel is beautiful because it just opened in June 2009. It is lacking services in so many ways. They encourage you to tell them if you need something but it goes on deaf ears. If you read the reviews listed for this hotel you will get all the correct information. It is all true. My biggest complaint it that... More

We stayed at the Riu Emrald Bay Resort from Dec 14 - 21st. It took a full day to pick our jaws up off the floor. It was stunning! The buffets were endless with so many options! The beach is absolutely amazing. We walke for over 1 hour on beautiful clean sandy beach. It wasn't really busy nd noisy until... More

Very nice installations. Felt a little small after a 4 day stay but the beach is beautiful and it is a good place to relax and enjoy some down time. Try to go there in groups as there is almost no single gals going there. Its a hotel mostly for older people or families than partygoers.

I have read all the reviews to date so here is an objective review. Room was average size but had a great balcony view as we had center ocean front. bathtub is dangerous and very hard for older people to get in and out. Everything was very clean and new. Staff was excellent and provided great service. Bartendors Alain, Juan,... More

My wife and I just returned from an excellent six days at the Riu Emerald Bay resort. This was our 5th Riu, including 2 Palaces. I recommend this resort without hesitation and would certainly choose to return before returning the either Palace. The location is wonderful, the beach is great and extends for miles. While the food is not as... More

Without a car you will not see Mazatlan. Oh yes, "Thrifty" is there. Beautiful beach but awkward to get to. Local activities involve one charming restaurant, La Bruja, worth a visit or several. The whole week seemed "contrived", we may just as well have stayed in a city hotel with a pool. We took one trip into the Centro Historical... More

Read a bunch of bad reviews...We found this hotel clean, comfortable, with great service and good value. Would go back in a minute....
