"Love where you stay" is the motto of the Casa Lucilla. And we loved the place. A small, eight-room boutique that has been thoughtfully and lovingly restored to utter magnificence, Casa Lucilla will not disappoint. Ideally located for those who love the historic "El Centro" of Mazatlan, the Lucila is close to everything and well-served by Pulmonias - the local... More

Dearest Charlie, Thank you for your lovely review for our boutique hotel. You write so eloquently I wished I came up with some of your phrasing especially your "lovingly restored to utter magnificence". Wow! Just great. We all appreciate your honesty and hope that we see you again in the near future. Many thanks again, Sophia More

Finally! No more day trips into Old Mazatlan from the "golden zone" or Nuevo. This is what we have been looking for downtown. If you are looking for... 1. pool aerobics 2. pesky condo salespeople 3. activities director 4. waiting for hours for your room 5. buffet with sneeze guards ...don't come here, but if you want a quiet, romantic(or... Dearest Mexvacagirl, Great review! We especially love the breakdown on what not to expect at our boutique property because, well, potential guests need to know what they won't get from staying with us. I especially love #5 buffet with sneeze guards. Nicely said! I'm thrilled you enjoyed your stay with us and I thank you for being a great advocate... More

Dearest Mazminded, Thank you so much for the fabulous review for our Lucila's Restaurant. We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed our breakfast. The Eggs Benedict with Salmon is definitely a must-have! We hope to see you back again for dinner as we've got some Rib-eyes or more traditional Sinaloan dishes to die for. My husband and I own two time shares in Mazatlan and have been coming down here for over twenty years. We have always loved the Centro and Historical district, so this year we decided to extend our visit by staying at Casa Lucila for three days. We were fortunate to stay in the Conchita room. Large and spacious with a... More

Dearest Kristi, First of all, thank YOU for teaching us to play the ukulele. Conchita especially enjoyed it as she is now adding "plays the ukulele" as a new skill set! Well, not really, but the experience alone was certainly incredible and unique. It's because of wonderful guests such as yourselves that make running the boutique hotel worth it. We... More

I was extremely disappointed. We upgraded for 30 dollars more a nite for a ocean view room. We were put in a room whose air conditioning evaporator leaked. We complained the same day and were ingnored. Then I had to complain 2x more, before the same young man at front desk agreed to come up and look. He then agreed... More

Dearest Javier, I'm sadden to hear that your experience with us in Mazatlan was so awful that you felt the need to give us a 1 star review, and if you were able to, a no star review. I'd like to address some of your concerns that you listed that in my opinion does not warrant the kind of scathing... More

We stayed 3 nights in Lucy. A spacious, quiet room off the courtyard. The bathroom was delightfully large! The infinity pool was fantastic and we spent hours in it waiting for the sunset. We were feeling adventuresome for this part of our trip and decided to try something different from the beach hotels in the Zona Dorada.
