I've stayed at the La Posada several times over the years, and again, thoroughly enjoyed the visit. The hotel is away from the tourist area and if you want a relaxing time, try staying there. It is next to the commercial port so large cargo ships are arriving and departing. If you have not seen big ships up close, this... More

We have known this hotel for more than 20 years. We used to go with friends and family and enjoyed a warm hospitality..the concept was great, you would feel like being at home, there was this honesty bar and the staff was very kind and friendly. The last time we visited it was in the summer of 2009 and we... More

Had heard about the pink Posada for years but a first visit. We were joining friends who were arriving the day after us who had stayed many times over the years. We booked a second floor room with a balcony and a kitchenette. Very clean, great breeze thru the room and a quiet powerful ceiling fan. We never even turned... More

This old beachfront motel is always great. The rooms are old, old tile etc but kept meticulously clean. Bedding is new as are towels and linen. There are about 20 rooms ALL BEACHFRONT, some with 2 queens and others with king beds. It is owned by Juan Carlos, an American of Cuban descent who has lived there for 12 years.... More

We just returned from a month at this hotel (we call it "the pink posada") after a month's stay and already miss it! The owners are so accommodating and helpful. We stayed in the studio apt with our two little furry children and we're delighted with it. Knowing that my husband has trouble with stairs Juan, the owner, put in... More

During our 3 week visit to Michoacan we (family of 5) decided to spend a week in Manzanillo, not having made any reservations prior to arriving we first stayed at another hotel in the area for 1 night. Not only was the other hotel ridiculously overpriced but it was not what we were looking for...so after briefly doing some research... More

We're back at our home away from home. Always great to see the staff and the many friends we have made who also frequent the hotel whether they are from Portland, OR, or locals. We love the way the owner (even in hard times) is keeping the place in good shape. The recent hurricanes that passed nearby did some roof... More

I had stayed at this inn a couple of years ago. The room was very basic. The hotel was quiet and relaxing. I had been in email communication with the owner regarding reservations for two rooms for late August. I simply needed to get back to him with my credit card info for confirming the rooms. We live about a... More

Hotel L, Owner at Hotel La Posada, responded to this review

We rarely respond to comments on TripAdvisor because guests are entitled to their own opinion, not everyone will fall in love with our unique Inn like the majority of our repeat guests. However, we must respond to this post and ask the same question ... Wow, really? Why would the night watchman need to wake the owner if there wasn't... More

I couldn't quite rate La Posada as very good this time. Our third trip to Manzanillo and a wonderful trip it was. To get to the Very Good rating La Posada needs to remedy these little issues: 1) Rooms need a thorough cleaning and a little sprucing up. Our ceiling fan hummed so loud that we were afraid to use... We just returned from a 5 day stay in La Posada. I had watched the reviews here on TA and they were consistently good for La Posada. I was not disappointed. It was a wonderful week. The hotel is NOT a box cutter plastic hotel, but rather a smaller and unique Mexican hotel. We live in Mexico and are accustomed... More
