I stayed at ParkRoyal Ixtapa for 4 days, and the service there was beyond mediocre. I work on the hospitality Industry myself, and prior to my visit there, I read the other reviews, both English and Spanish. They were bad, but I didn't want to really believe them. Well, once I got there I understood the bad reviews. I saw... More

I love this place! The people are so nice, and the food is great! Pretty nice rooms, the bathrooms could use some work. They have newly renovated suites which are really nice, and the view is nice from EVERY room. Beautiful view of the beach, and close to a lot of nice shops. Right across the street (not a busy... You will be diving into Timeshare Shark infested waters. Park Royal is notorious for kidnapping tourists under the guise of free meals, etc and whisking them away to strong arm sell a timeshare. Well if you stay here - you are there. They will hound you during the whole stay to buy a timeshare. They are seated outside the elevator,... More

Royal Villas are located on the property of the Barcelo Hotel. Beautiful property right on the beach front. The villas were air conditioned, hot running shower and a nice view of the Pacific Ocean. Our villa was facing the mountain side but had a balcony facing the ocean. This was our honeymoon get away yet had the 2 full size... More

Been to the Villas twice, and its recent renovation makes a huge difference. I'm from San Francisco, so I'm used to good food - and the food here has gotten loads better since my first trip 2 years ago. The rooms are very luxurious and the service is very attentive. For us, it was a great home base from which... More

The 2 BR, 2 Bath suite we occupied was among the top 3 or 4 of the more than 20 hotel rooms we have booked in Mexico over the last 15 years. Unfortunately the Park Royal Hotels are all inclusive and neither the food nor the amenities were up to the level of the Barcelo or other nearby resorts. Breakfast... More

Just returned from the Villas. This was our second visit and we love the location. They will be closed very shortly and refurbished. Which they need desperately. The new ones will have an elevator which will be helpful. The staff was quite friendly and could speak English. We used the e-mail room most every day. Our maid came each morning... More

We just returned from a week stay at the Barcelo/Royal Villas resort with our 4 children aged 14 to 22. We were celebrating 2 of their graduations. I had stayed at the Barcelo (Sheraton) in 1984 and was surprised by the growth of both Zihuat and Ixtapa but it still had the same feeling. My husband and I had an... More

After several years of east coast vacations, we were really looking forward to our third trip back to Park Royal Villas in Ixtapa. It has been three years since our last visit. Starting a the airport, things were not quite the same. A fellow who identified himself as a representative of our vavcation club (with appropriate tags) got us a... More
