Where should I start about what was wrong with the Avalon Excalibur? It began with the check-in. People lined up for a 1:20 hour wait in a non-airconditioned lobby. I just returned from a stay in Acapulco. I had one night at Las Brisas, excellent and one night at the Camino Real, very good. One week at a timeshare, excellent. Stayed for a week. Jan 20-27, 2006. Based on previous reviews, did not expect much. Nice facility with fabulous beach and pool area. Room was adequate with Ocean view. Staff was courteous and friendly. We spent every morning outdoors, either under a beach palapa or at the pool. Very nice adult pool. Check-in and check-out extremely busy, with long lines.... more
