Some of the negative comments here are (i believe) a little too harsh. we had no problems here, sometimes yes, the elevators are slow and stop at almost every floor and are always full. I would after all expect this. While not everyone spoke english, everyone at the Front Desk could. The rooms were good for what you needed them... more

For starters I want to let everyone know how I choose this hotel. I'm a 21 year old college student, and thus because my spring break was extremely late I decided to book the 'recomended' Avalon hotel in Acapulco. BAD IDEA! I ended up choosing this hotel because most reviews said it was in the middle of everything, & for... more

*ELEVATORS don't work AT ALL. NEVER GO ALONE IN IT.* **Do not take their ALL INCLUSIVE PACKAGE at all. Very POOR FOOD QUALITY, Very FEW CHOICES & the same food is served for Breakfast Lunch & Dinner. We had to eat same food for 2 days in a row.** ***Absolutely NO ENGLISH WORDS are understood. No MANAGER Or SUPERVISOR can... more

Acapulco is definitely a paradise, but Avalon is a waste of building and space. It used to be one of the TOP hotels in Acapulco but nowadays is far from being goog (look at the pictures) The rooms were old, the bathroom DISGUSTING! Old forniture... Just look at the pictures.... Insipte of that we definitely enjoyed our stay un Acapulco,... more

We exchanged a timeshare through Interval International for January 19 - 26 to stay at the Avalon Excalibur. The Interval International evaluation and the website of the hotel looked fine. However our findings were drastically different. The hotel is old and needs lots of maintenance. While the staff was friendly, the quality of the room, furnishings and entire facility needs... more

I have used Priceline.com's name-your-own-price bidding system about a dozen times, and honestly it has been great every time EXCEPT this time. (After I wrote Priceline a long, detailed email explaining the many, many problems we had at this hotel, they actually broke their own policy and DID refund my full purchase price. If there were space for me to... more

We stayed a week and loved it. The whole place was squeaky-clean, and our room was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. Price was a real bargain, about $110 a day including all taxes, for an all-inclusive stay: food, drinks, beach, etc. (Child care included, though we had no children with us.) If you don't like real Mexican food (not... more

DO NOT STAY HERE if you want fond memories of acapulco! this hotel fails to deliver on several levels. amusingly, it is decorated as a mock castle in its common areas (i have no answer for this...please, why?) it is the last hotel on the beach on acapulcos golden zone and has road drainways loading into the sea on each... more

Sounds a stupid title, right? But we'll get to that in a minute. People who enjoy embracing a different culture probably don't need to read this. You'll soon realise it isn't written with you in mind. Anyway, we read all the reviews but still stuck to our plans and went for an all inclusive chill via Otel.com. This is not... more
