Pros: Roomy rooms, stellar housekeeping staff, near beach (water not great for swimming as waves & undertow very strong, but a wide shallow area for children and fine for strong swimmers), nice pools, fantastic children's playground. I loved the (presumably) original 1950s light fixtures in the main building stairwells. Cons: I had to think hard to come up with cons...... more

Large family group went on vacation and rooms were OK but certainly not 5 star. Food was average, at best, and service in restaurants was super slow. more

This is our second stay at the Pierre Marques, and what can I say, it was great. It is an older hotel, but is well maintained. We stayed in the tower, and had an absolutely beautiful view of the ocean. No major issues throughout our stay. Date of stay 2/7 to 2/14/09. more

We have just returned from our second Christmas vacation at the Pierre Marques. First let me start with Acapulco......it is by far the best weather anywhere in Mexico or the Carribean. Every day is filled with bright sunshine, not a cloud in the sky, hot but not oppressive! It is the perfect hot weather destination. Now about the hotel....The Pierre... more

We stayed 9 nights in the Pierre Marques during the off season. It rained nearly every night but the days were warm and sunny. I do recommend going in the off season if you don't mind rain at night because there are not a lot of people around and it feels like you're in your own exclusive resort. The staff... more

The Pierre Marques was by far the jewel in the crown of our Oaxaca-Guerrero trip. The location is good (though a good 20 minute drive to downtown Acapulco), the setting simply perfect (with generous pools opening onto the best beach in Acapulco), and the service wonderful (we booked an ocean front room but asked to move when the connecting room... more

We had a wonderful trip to Acapulco. We arrived 7/19 and left 7/26, and what a special week it was. The best part of the trip was having our driver Sebatian meet us at the airport, and avoid all the Mayan timeshare solicitors, and the large gathering of taxi drivers wanting to give us a ride. They are not shy... more

My family and I just returned ffom an absolutely perfect vacation at the Fairmont Pierre Marques. The reason I booked this hotel was becasue it was a low key hotel and a Fairmont. It could not have lived up to its reputation any better. We booked a ocean view room but after one night upgraded to an ocean front villa.... more

Wife and I just returned from a week at Fairmont Marques. We were looking for golf, beach, tropical weather, nice accomodations and good food in that order. We came away saying this was one of our best vacations ever. We're both just short of 60, active, non-drinkers. We booked a golf pacakage through a local travel agent that included room,... more
