Some of the many reasons my wife & I loved this hotel. The staff is friendly, attentive, & competent. Rooms are pretty, clean & quiet. The hotel's main color theme is blue & white. All rooms have a view, & most have a balcony with table & chairs. You do not hear road traffic, nor loud bar music when trying... more

What a great hotel The Elcano is. Classic late fifties/early sixties design, huge lobby, big rooms, big bathrooms and the only hotel in Acapulco that has a balcony in every room which faces the water. Air-con and fans in each room, rooms serviced twice a day, friendly staff, delicious buffet breakfast, large pool with four jacuzzis and private space on... more

We hab been at elcano three consecutive years at the end of the 90's and at this moment. we loved this place. This year, we just returned and discovered that the food is not good, all is cold..... you have to fight to have wine or beer or toast in the morning.... you are always waiting... The rooms are really... more

My friend and I spent two amazing weeks at the El Cano and I must admit it was awsome! We stayed in what they describe as a regular room but we found it above average. Very clean, beautifully decorated, especially the bathroom. The towels were changed more often than we needed, but, hey, that's OK. The beds were a bit... more

The hotel was lovely, clean and housed all the amenities, however, I found the staff was a bit cold and unfriendly. I'm speculating that it may have something to do with the shooting reports being highlighted by North American media recently (making Mexico seem like a scary place, and perhaps angering the Mexican people?), but the staff truly gave the... more

This hotel is very nice. There are 180 rooms, they have either two queens, with a balcony, or a king with not balcony, all ocean view. The food is buffet, or a la carte, very good food, prepared well, never got sick. The drinks are premium brand, bottled beer no draft, lots of taste, and never hot, drinks are always... more

We had a great hotel and stay at the Hotel and found all Staff to be very friendly and accomodating including the reservation manager Christina. The Gym was below average but for a light workout it was sufficient. Pool was above average as was the restaurant. The only concern now is trying to book for 2007 directly with the hotel... more

My husband and I were in Acapulco in early November 2005 for a friend's wedding and booked the Elcano on [---------------]which I believe has the best rates. Just about everything about the Elcano was fabulous! There is an amazing view of the entire bay from the balcony where you can sit in the nice wooden deck chairs and enjoy morning... more

The hotel was excellent. The rooms were always kept clean and towel service twice a day. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to our needs and always greated us with a smile. They were able to answer all our questions and if not found someone who could. Made reservations on our behalf and gave us a courtesy call to... more
