Acapulco as it was in the 1970s but still gorgeous. Nothing dated except the TVs. Lovely spacious. Do bring a battery operated light for reading on the balcony at night. The king sized bed was so comfortable and the room (217) was huge. There was a sofa and lovely table and club chairs and a desk! The floors had lovely... More

ELCANO is a old hotel age wise - probably built in the 40´s but has wonderful old Acapulco feel. Decor is Sinatra Acapulco but extemely well kept up. Waiters and service are excellent and local is beautiful in Acapulco bay.Family oriented. Well worth the cost!

Smaller, quiet, understated and more personable than the average Acapulco hotel on the strip. ALL rooms have ocean views and balcony. Management is present, available and helpful. Love the location, love the people.

This hotel was just what we wanted. Smaller - all ocean view rooms - large and spacious with a great balcony. ALL of the staff at this property were great - and tried hard to please all. The food for breakfast & lunch was plentiful & good. The dinner "buffet" wasn't so great - but you could order from the... More

I remember Elcano when it opened about 15 years ago and how much I liked it back then: good design, nice crowd, great location... I stayed there a month ago and unfortunately it is just like I remember it... but it's been 15 years. It now looks old, boring and the services is poor. I won't go back.

The rooms are all on the ocean side and have a great view of the Acapulco bay. The rooms are spacious and well decorated. The hotel is clean, the staff very welcoming and the breakfast buffet is delicious. We had a wonderful stay. A/C was hardly working so we slept with the balcony door open.

We held an event at the Elcano which went very well with good service and excellent food as usual. The hotel is still very good for events, breakfast in particular and the staff helped us be very successful. However, the rooms and installations are in dire need of an update. The place is still a wonderful looking hotel but the... More

This hotel was very popular on the 90´s, I just came back after 10 years, I was very pleased to see that it did not decay as many other hotels from that time. The cuisine is excellent mostly spanish cuisine since a very recognized chef is on charge, still you can find Mexican food. I was surprised on how clean... More

This hotel is situated right on the beach. The views are very nice. The staff is helpful and the rooms were clean and nicely appointed. The elevators were small however. There is a Walmart right down the street which made obtaining supplies convenient. The lobby is pretty, open, and comfortable to just sit and lounge in. The pool is basic... More
