This is a top-of-the-line hotel. I stayed there for about 5 days and was very pleased all around. The lobby area is quite nice with very large plants that make for nice natural decoration. The Hyatt chain should be ashamed of having their name in this property. Some of the reasons: 1. The rooms haven't been updated in 20+ years 2. Let me caveat the 'above average' rank by saying that the standards in Acapulco are relatively low. That being said, we were pleasantly surprised by the Hyatt. The rooms and pool were nice. The service and the restaurants and elsewhere were excellent. We also stayed at the Las Brisas which was more expensive and much more secluded, but largely unimpressive.... more
