I was in Monterrey for a conference, and stayed the first three days at Fiesta Americana - nice, but it might have been Dallas or Houston or New York or Los Angeles. I had two free days and moved across the plaza to Santa Rosa. It was all the difference in the world.

First, the rooms are huge - even the mini-suites are huge. Full living room, table and chairs, small kitchen. The bedrooms are also very spacious.

Second, whereas Fiesta was a $110 +$15 for internet +$20 for breakfast (making it $165 for two people), Santa Rosa was $70 for a mini suite with breakfast and internet included.

Third and final: the hospitality was the most enjoyable thing. They knew my name every time I came in and out of the hotel, and spoke to me in a personable way. They were eager to help, above and beyond the call of duty - hailing cabs, walking across the plaza to check on a restaurant for us, just very friendly people. I highly recommend it. more
