The carpet is really dirty, the shower had a leak all night and I could hear the tv on the next room. The air conditioner was not working so I asked for another room and they gave another one without air conditioner which is a point to think about in Monterrey (38 degrees C). The bed was ok but the... More

Today's room smells like sewer, carpet pretty dirty, too many details in the badroom. AC with bad smell, i can listen what people in the next room are talking through a register in the bathroom. The gym is a shame, 4 treadmills but just 2 work and the ones that work are about to brake. Etc etc

Its an old style building, so keep that in mind. We booked this place as a long weekend get away (Fri-Wed). For the price it included breakfast and the "Romantic Dinner" package which included a bottle of wine for 3 out of the 5 days. The meals were just ok. We enjoyed the wine. The room was again ok for... More

As I always think, shower, tv and bed experiences are the ultimate test for a room, at the Ancira bed and tv are 0k, nothing to remember but the shower was not 0k, need pressure and need temperature. Need also to improve in their abilities of receive guests and solve quickly the simple necessities like a change in the key.... More

This sunday we had breakfast at the Ancira, as a sort of special family outing to a supposedly traditionnal hotel. First I'd say the breakfast buffet was only regular. Expensive indeed for what it is... Then I had to change my baby's diaper... and the bathrooms and NO changing station. I ended up using a lobby chair to perform the... More

Having run across some very inexpensive plane tickets to Monterrey, I jumped at the chance for a long weekend for two. Part of the attraction for me was the fact that my parents had actually spent their honeymoon here back in 1942. Very convenient location for walking to the Macro Plaza, museums, or arranging excursions to Cola de Caballo Falls... More

Great location, historical building, good service, close to Macroplaza, next to museums, food venues and about 4 blocks from Barrio Antiguo where you can find food, drinks, pubs, discos and more. Close to a metro station as well, in case you are traveling in business. Rooms are really spacious and beds are super comfortable.

We chose this hotel because we had been there before a few years back. Alot has changed, the lobby mangement was NOT very accomodating. We also had the 5th floor which is the executive the room was nice, but the service was not what was promised. We are not planning to return, Monterrey has alot of better hotels.

I spent three nights in this 102 year old hotel and found that its faded glory and pleasant staff made up for its few drawbacks. The pros: a stunning lobby, helpful staff, comfortable bed and convenient location near Macro Plaza and the Contemporary Art Museum. After leaving Monterrey I discovered that I had left some things in the room and... More

My parents and I had adjoining rooms on 30 and 31 December. Our stay was a frustrating mix of good and bad. Bad: 1) their room had one armchair (which the hotel, oddly, calls a ‘sofa’), mine had none at all, so we were forced to wheel the desk chairs from one room to another. Not in itself a big... More
