I appreciate all the thoughtful reviews that were here before mine -- we made a decision to stay at Chapala Hotel based on them and they were accurate. The room was simple -- but it was clean and we felt safe there. The staff are sincere and helpful. The owner or manager (not sure) was making dinner for his family... more

Doug from montana 01-20-2006 I had a very good stay at the chapala motel it was down town in the middle with in crawling distance and a good rate and very nice people. more

i have stayed at this hotel for several times throughout the years. Every thing is clean and the clerks working there are very nice and helpful. They don't have a bar or restaurant available, but they are close to everything, and they will have coffee ready for the guests at the office. The only bad thing is that they don't... more

Just spent 3 days in S.F. for business at El Dorado Ranch. We stayed at the Chapala Hotel on Mar de Cortez,one street off the main beach drive.
