This review is for the first Hotel La Fonda coming from the north. There are two hotels next to each other named exactly the same. The second hotel seems a little more upscale. The restaurant was nice and the room had an incredible view and very romantic. The balcony needs a major renovation and there was a smell in the... More

Walked into Hotel La Fonda at 5:30pm on a Saturday and got an ocean view room with a kitchenet for a very reasonable price. Had plenty of margaritas on the balcony and enjoyed the hotel's beach access. Sunday brunch is a must

I've been here several times through the years and this was the best. Omg!!! The surf, the birds, the flowers...then you add in the service and the food. Yes, there are quirks. TV couldn't reach the outlet. Limited wifi in the room. But those issues versus staying in some cookie cutter nondescript hotel----no thanks. Fresh flowers in the lobby area... More

We were sent to la Fonda by a local 20 yr old who liked the restaurant and view. Smack on the ocean and so authentic, we hated to leave. Delicious lamb chops, real flowers, lots of Mexican artifacts, live music and reasonable silver jewelry made our evening just perfect. I ate, shopped and best of all slept to the sound... More

We don't know what all the fuss is. We had a chance to stay at this great place this weekend. The problem was all of these people taking their pets along for the trip. We are pet lovers as well and also like to have our little guys with us but do people honestly expect a hotel that allows pets... More

My wife and I traveled to Rosarito Mexico last weekend and stayed at the La Fonda Hotel. The room we stayed in was supposed to be the best in the entire Hotel. Room #21 has a lot of steps and goes half way down the hill towards the beach. It has a great private view of the ocean and is... More

I struggled with the decision to write this review because I can tell that the owners Sara and Dymitri are lovely people and it’s apparent they adore this place and are happy to be restoring it to its former glory. I don’t want to hurt their business but I would be remiss in not communicating about our recent stay. Other... More

A most enchanting destination on the Northern Baja Coast. If you drive in Baja you have gone by La Fonda and not even notice it. I had one of the best steaks ever and my wife had quail, both were fantastic. Breakfast and Service were great

They said it was 125.00 a night to my boyfriend , then told him 100.00. I went in and got it for 80.00. charged me 998 pesos. I thought the room was lovely but during the night I felt bites and woke up and had bug bites all over my face , I saw a dr and was put on... More

I booked a few weeks before our arrival and sent in a check for the room deposit. They don't take credit cards at this time. No problem. I sent a check as I did when Dmytrii and Sara owned it years ago. I asked for an email confirmation and received none. 2 days before our arrival I emailed and asked... More
