Hey Everyone, I was at Dmytri's Original La Fonda last weekend and we loved it! The food was good and the room really beautiful I was staying in room 21. Many people are confused and have the wrong number....... There phone number is 01152.646.155.0871

Quirky wonderful place! The food is fantastic, the rooms are rustic, the view is breathtaking!. I have been going here for the last 30 years and still love it every time. Dimitri and Sara are back. The south side of La Fonda is the place I like. They are the originators of this area. There are other places at La... More

We love LaFonda. Been visiting for years and years ---- since before the days when Sara and Dmitri had a telephone -- when you had to book by post card. I still have the LA Times article talking about the place from when Sara and Dmitri retired and sold it to the new owners. And we visited during their ownership... More

The food was average and the place seemed old and tired. Although we referred there by people in the neighborhood we were staying in, it was not really all that good. Not a lot of choices right here, but it is probably worth traveling for a better meal.

Husband made a two night reservation here after hearing good reviews from word of mouth. On arrival, I was terrified. From the outside and inside, the hotel and restaurant was horrible. Left the very next morning and lost out on a refund for the 2nd night. Our bedroom was awful. The heat coming in from the window facing the ocean... More

Went there for my birthday and I had3 lobsters to die for. Less than $25. Wife had the stuffed shrimp and maybe was even better. Be careful there are two Laa Fo,nda's right next to each other. Go to the one at hotel which is just south of the others Fonda. Totally different menus.

Stopped here for lunch while staying at Poco Cielo a couple of doors down. The food was very good and so were the portions and the prices. Had a good margarita and my husband's Michelada was very tasty. I had shrimp with white wine, with fresh spinach, rice, and potatoes and came with a small bowl of black bean soup... More

Stopped for lunch on my way up to San Diego from Ensenada. Kind of a funky little place with a great view of the beach below. Started out with a classic Marguarita.....it was good, refreshing, a bit strong but I'm not complaining about that. Chips that were brought to the table were crisp corn tortillas. The ones that weren't burnt... More

This hotel has been my favorite place since I visited the restaurant for the first time 25 years ago and loved it. I always escape from stress of daily life in the city and drive down to La Fonda either by my self, with my best friends or my family. The beach is right in front of your room and... More

Delicious food. Beautiful coastline location. Funky rooms. Wonderful hosts. A quick trip across the border to this fun hotel is worth the effort! Glad that Joe and his wife has this place back! The bad comments are from the previous owner-- who ran it into the ground.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Just as American-style Las Rocas has its staunch devotees, many are loyal to La Fonda, a place for people who truly want to get away from it all. The rustic rooms don't come with minibars, state-of-the-art TVs, or phones. What they do have is an adventuresome appeal unlike that of any other northern Baja coast resort. Relaxation and romance are the key words at this small hotel and restaurant, which opened in the 1950s and hasn't changed a whole lot since. (http://www.frommers.com) ... more   less
