I titled this review "Baja-Friendly" because this hotel is NOT for people accustomed to fluff. However, if you care more about the charm of Baja and the friendly people than a few amenities, this is for you. My husband and I have been staying here for years. The restaurant is fantastic and the rooms are simple, clean, and you can't... more

My husband and our neighbor did the Rosarita/Ensenada bike ride. His wife and I enjoyed the spa. For some people, the hotel might be a little rustic. It is true, there is no TV, but why would you want it with the view from your room. We went to sleep with the sound of the ocean waves and watched dolphins... more

We have always made sure to plan a stay at La Fonda on the way to AND from Cabo and points south.. even a few trips from Los Angeles solely for a dinner and Creme Brulee! Breakfast on the patio with CocoLopez covered pancakes while watching dolphins play in the surf, the individually unique and private rooms, a warm fire... more

I am suprised at some of the negative reviews for La Fonda. It is a kitchy, unique place, not standardized like a Holiday Inn so if that is what you are looking for keep on looking. If you are looking for a property with quaint, interesting rooms (both in decor and materials) with great views and a 60sec walk to... more

Let me start out by saying we adore La Fonda...I have been coming here for nearly 20 years with family, friends, my (now) husband....it's a truly magical place, and the staff is wonderful. That's why we got married here in the summer of 2008.... However, we were shocked at how unbelievably incompetent their wedding coordinator was.... She is the person... more

We stayed in Bungalow 22 on Sept 2 and 3, 2008. Have been all over Mexico and thought we had seen it all. Am still wondering why we stayed two nights in this place. We checked in and were assigned bungalow 22, right over the beach. Sounded good so we unloaded the luggage and headed up and down several flights... more

We have stayed at La Fonda many times. We also got married there on June 28th, and it was absolutely fabulous! We had 85 guests from Vancouver BC to Louisiana and everywhere in between, and they all LOVED the place. There is no other place like it on Earth, and that's exactly why we booked our wedding there! Some of... more

Well I am very surprised by the positive reviews on this place. Outside of thefun restaurant with mediocre food, the actual hotel is a disaster. My husband and I had been to dinner there a # of times and decided that rather than stay in our usual Las Rosas hotel, we would try La Fonda. What a mistake. Our room... more

This is a review of the La Fonda Hotel, Restaurant, and Spa. All in one. WIfe and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary at La Fonda. Kind of a special weekend we'd say. Summary: Great views, good front desk people and restaurant staff, OK spa, and some nice rooms. Just make sure you get one of the nice rooms! Bottomline:... more

Want to say after staying at some hotels in rosarito this place is great. Resturant serves great food, drinks are strong and the bungalows are neat with fireplaces and ocean views. Very Relaxing. But I must warn you bungalow 22 has the "killer shower". It is up a 7 foot spiral marble floor staircase, no hand rails, no shower curtain,... more
