Three of us stayed at Califia on Friday, 18 July. A spur of the moment trip. I had been there many years ago and heard that it was reopened. Friendly staff...gratis margaritas were nice, too. The room was very reasonable and clean, although we could see that the hotel still has a number of maintenance issues. A door knob on... More

Room was clean and organized not bad but had issues once we arrived key, room they gave us was occupied by someone. We realized when we open the door lady was scared to dead. The other issue was they gave us room but it did not lock from the inside but that was fixed they replace asap. The last one... More

If you are looking for high-vibrated places to rest your mind, soul and body, this is it. The energy of this place is undescribable. No wonder they say Carl Sagan and others like him used to stay here... Do expect a place rebuildung itself (place is presently under renovation). But in my view, you simply can't be at a better... Took a quick trip to Baja and stayed one night at Califia. Our room was very clean and we had an ocean view for under $60. Very quiet and relaxing. Jesus the desk clerk is very friendly and can answer all you questions about the area. Can't wait to go back!!

So we attended a wedding the weekend of 7/23/2011 that was held in the courtyard overlooking the ocean. We drove from San Diego, the drive was nice and there was some road work happening on the drive down. The exit for getting to Calafia was covered in pot holes (much like the entire place) and needed some major work. You... More

After making reservations, we called their office located off site in the USA to cancel, but were told we could not cancel reservations. When we called the credit card company, they said the room fee had already been processed, even though we check in wasn't for 2 more weeks! So we stayed overnight after all for a wedding at the... Stayed at Califia for a wedding, beware! Flithy rooms, holes in walls, unpainted patches, dirty bedding, no hot water at all certain hours. Desk clerk tried to change my pre reserved rate to a higher amount. It looks nothing like the web site!

We had a wonderful stay at the Calafia Hotel, My husband and I stayed in the newly remodled Ocean Front suite for our anniversary! We enjoyed no telephones, the quiteness of the hotel, strolling through the property was so peaceful. We spent every meal in the resturant and was very happy with our meals. I even had the pleasure of... More

Traveled to Rosarito for a wedding. The Hotel itself is beautiful with a great historic background. The view was magnificent and the staff was obliging but the rooms themselves need a huge overhaul. I don't think they have the manpower or the $ to refurbish these rooms. The beds are depleted, showers, floors, paint and just overall room decor is abhorrent. The clocks... More

Rooms are clean. Restaurant has great vew, attractive, clean and reasonable prices. We loved the grounds. This year, after the remodeling, it is still with no phones or A/Cs, but the linnen is in good condition. We must remember we are not in Cancun, this is Baja and as such Califa Hotel is better than Rosarito Beach Hotel price-wise. Location... More
