My husband and 2 sons, 10 &12yo, stayed at El Santuario for 4 nights &5 days. We stayed in a yurt. This place is a slice of undisturbed heaven. We kayaked everyday, first in and around the bay and then out to the nearby islands. The snorkelling was excellent. We hiked the hills at the south end of the bay... more

For years our family camped out on the isolated bay of Ensenada Blanca. We fell in love with the gentle waves, stellar scenery, and the sense that we had that the world was still and at peace. We were skeptical when we discovered that Bill and Denise had built an ecological retreat on the beach. Please know that this is... more

My husband and I have returned time and again to this enchanted spot. If you're looking for room service, air-conditioning, and gift shops, look elsewhere. But if you love to fall asleep to the soft sound of the tide, if you love to kayak and snorkel in a pristine bay in the beautiful Sea of Cortez, then this place is... more

This is truly a sanctuary, a quiet corner of heaven far from the madding crowds. Set on the beautiful bay at Ensenada Blanca, about 25 miles south of Loreto, El Santuario is the perfect place to swim, snorkel, beachcomb, hike the mountains, walk the beach, or just cool your jets. Our little cabin (casita) was right on the beach. We... more

We loved this beautiful little resort. The little cabanas are right on the beach. They are nicely decorated. We were there for the big Halloween party. Great fun. We are coming back in spring for sure. Ute and Andreas more

My wife and I stayed for a week in December, 2005. Every aspect of our stay in this small eco-resort exceeded our expectations. El Santuario is located on a beautiful beach on a cove off the Gulf of California, about 30 miles south of Loreto in Baja. The resort is ecologically responsible and even has composting toilets and photovoltaic electricity.... more

I knew we would all be exhausted after I picked my daughter and her children up at the Loreto airport and I wanted a place we could relax immediately. I was so pleased as we followed the directions to Santuario along the tiniest road and through a small Mexican village. My grandchildren were enthralled and helped find the track and... more

We've visited this eco-resort twice, once in 2004 and again January 2007, for a week each time. El Santuario is a truly unique place to spend time with nature, yourself and your family. We swam, snorkeled, paddled kayaks, hiked, built sandcastles, read, lolled... and gazed open-mouthed at the undisturbed beauty of this fragile ecosystem. One day, they arranged for a... more

My daughter and I stayed here for 10 days while the rest of the family was dealing with blizzards in Massachusetts. To this very day I can call up memories of our stay at El Santuario and they evoke an inner sense of peace, warmth and well being in me. First of all, the location is simply outstanding; a short... more

Stumbled on this wonderful place by chance! Visited 3 times now. This haven of warmth and hospitality is located in one of the most beautiful places we have been on our world wide travels. It is hosted by some wonderful freindly people who are sincere , knowledgable and professional which has made our stay a pleasure and carefree. The accommodation... more
