We booked the only two rooms that Hotel 1697 has. The kids had one room that accommodated all four of them and my husband and I had the other. They are side by side, but not attached. Each room had it's own patio with a table and two chairs. Both rooms were very nice, no complaints other than the larger... More

This is a very simple hotel, with a restaurant attached that is located right off the town square in the center of Loreto. The main reasons to stay here (other than the simple, tasteful, comfy rooms) is the staff. Norma is a very thoughtful and generous person, who is genuinely interested in her guests and their experiences in her city.... More

1697 isn't a resort hotel, and it's not a townie hotel either--it's just right if you want a well-kept and well-located place to stay that caters to tourists, but doesn't make you feel like one. The owner (who also runs the restaurant next door) is a friendly Irish ex-pat who knows the hospitality business. The hotel (and restaurant) are tourist-friendly,... More

This little hotel in the corner of the sweet little plaza is definitely good value. The rooms are clean and spacious. The owner and his staff are friendly and helpful, even let us leave the luggage and use the showers after we'd checked out. The restaurant is cosy and the food looked good.

We stayed for a week at 1697 and ate every night in the restaurant. My 2 favourite dishes Italian and Mexican on the same menu. We had wonderful evenings with the hosts Norma, Kieran and Patricio. Have recommended all our friends on their next trip to Mexico to visit the Baja.

Stayed here in October whilst passing through Loreto for one night. Conveniently located on the main square it is next to their restaurant. The owner Kieran greeted us and gave us a quick lay of the land. The place smelt recently decorated and was clean and well kept with a comfy double bed and good shower. No WI-FI found, TV... More

You cannot beat the location of this tiny two-room hotel adjoining the popular 1697 restaurant. It's located in the northeast corner of the main Plaza overlooking the bandstand, where you can s patio and watch it on your veranda and watch the world go by. Both Loreto Centro and the malecon are just blocks away. Secure private parking behind the... More

Loved staying here. Nice clean rooms and really pretty. Simple but charming. We enjoyed the location because we could walk everywhere in town. The restaurant attached to the hotel serves the best salads and pizza. Everything about our stay was super pleasant.

We stopped here when travelling to Loreto with relatives. The owners are pals with the La Luna hotel, so as we were 3 couples and la Luna was full, we were were lodged at Hotel 1697. The rooms were clean and located just of the main square. The location is handy for cafes and has a charming restaurant. We were... More
