we stayed here because they said we could have our dogs---even though it is more expensive than most other hotels in loreto. However, the rooms are unattractive, no screens on the windows, noisy, and smell unpleasant. They always seem to promise one thing and then fail to follow through--or deny they ever said that. The staff is very nice--but they... more

My wife and I stayed at the Oasis for five nights in early November. We found the beach front room very spartan indeed, not even a picture on any wall. The concrete walls offered no barrier to any sound from adjacent rooms, even conversation at normal voice level was easily understood through the walls. On the other hand, it was... more

The hotel is OK if you are just going down for the fishing, however, DO NOT purchase the meal plan under any circumstances for the following reasons. On our travel documents provided by Baja Motion tours, it specified, "Hotel Oasis Loreto- w/MEALS INCLUDED". Upon our arrival at the hotel, we verified that we had all meals included plan, and that... more

I have been coming to Loreto since 1969 when I lived there for one semester of school. We originaly stayed at Ed Tabor's Flying Sportsmen Lodge south of town and I lived with the Manager of the hotel. Since the Flying Sportsmen closed we have been drifting between the La Pinta and the Oasis. I really like some of the... more

Spent 7 days in July at Hotel Oasis. It is an updated motel, so be ready for a gravel parking lot. Our room was at the back, behind the pool. You basically get exactly what you see on web site. Initial reaction to the orange bedspreads and orange curtain accents was less than favorable. However, the place really grew on... more

Do you ever walk into a place and just get a bad feeling? That's what happened to me and that's what the Oasis delivered on a one night (thankfully) stay in April. The hotel is way overpriced for what you get - I think we paid $139 a room. The value was easily more in the $50-$75 range. I did... more

Our party of 4 came to fish and enjoy the Sea of Cortez. We caught yellowtail and other fish. Our smaller/bottom fish were prepared by the outstanding hotel chef for lunch and 2 dinners. Grilled, sauteed and fried fish were all terrific with perfectly cooked vegies and rice on the side. We also had sashimi made form our own yellowtail... more

My partner and I stayed at the Oasis the first and last nights of an organized whalewatching and kayaking trip, the rest of which included camping elsewhere on the peninsula. So the Oasis wasn't our personal choice, but it proved to be a comfortable place to stay and a good base for exploring this charming and historic town, the original... more

We stayed here one night during a six day motorcycle organized tour from San Diego to San Jose del Cabo. The room was spacious and very clean, the water hot, and the staff was pleasant. We ate both dinner and breakfast here and were very pleased with both the food and service. The patio areas are very nicely landscaped and... more

Man, I don't know what the negative reviews are about. This place was fantastic. Fairly enough, if you stay at Hyatt's or high end hotels, it will fall short. If you want to stay at a locally owned hotel with very accomodating staff, and a great location at one end of town, with a beach out front, and quiet bar... more
