We found this hotel very clean, accommodating, and the staff friendly. Wifi was not accessible in our room but had no problem in the lobby or outside courtyard. Very reasonably priced hotel for one that is on the beach. Lots of seaglass to be found! I would skip the restaurant as I believe there are a lot better places in... More

I`ve always found the government run hotels in Baja to be hit and miss as far as quality. There is little monetary incentive so it all depends on the current manager. Right now the Desert Inn, Loreto is great. The rooms are huge and clean, a very large balcony on the second floor, lots of hot water, nice big clean... More

The check in area and pool were OK, but no bar or food as claimed. The rooms were spartan but clean and tolerable. The beach area was not what I would think a Baja beach should be, large grained sand and rocks. The Desert Inn was not as bad as the other reviews claimed but it also wasn’t the best... More

First room was so bad - had to change rooms. 2nd room wasn't much better but we were tired ! TV was awful, toilet wouldn't turn off, wash cloths - yuck ! Tissues - none, no stopper in sink. No hand towels. Showered in early am - water went everywhere !!! Everything got wet, including floors into bedroom. Breakfast supposed... More

This place is just a nightmare. Nobody cares. There is no hot water, no TV reception, no internet, the AC unit is terribly loud, the bathroom smells... And on top of that when we were there other guests were having a party in the car park, just outside our room. Loud music until 4 am, beer cans everywhere, and they... More

I have stayed in this hotel three different times before this time, always, with friends who had dogs. I kept giving it the benefit of the doubt. We heard it had recently sold and was in transition. Well just forget it! Now, they are no longer pet friendly. Upon our arrival they informed us, in a very direct way, that... More

A friend and I stayed here last week. Used to be the La Pinta, just N of the end of the malecon and a block off the beach. Good location but the hotel appeared to have been closed down for at least a year, maybe before reopening as a Desert Inn. So the grounds had been neglected, no wifi, limited... More

Where to begin? No air conditioning no TV, pool like ice, bar tender never there, no coffee until 8 am, no wifi EVER. Ask the manager when anything will work, standard answer "one hour." And really watch the weird step into the bathroom. Just odd.

I stayed at the hotel with a tour group and was told the hotel was nice five years ago. But now it is worn and not appealing. Neither the rooms nor the grounds are being very well maintained. The bathroom window slats didn't close properly which might explain all the dirt on the toilet which I had to clean before... More

Pros: Gorgeous grounds, pool and beach Huge rooms Good value for money if you don't book online Very clean Very helpful receptionist Cons: We booked online through despegar.com and ended up paying twice the room's worth which is unacceptable It is a 20 min walk into town which is not doable for everyone The flourescent lighting in the room is...
