The Baja Outpost is a totally unique location to spend a holiday and the people who work there are as unique as the place itself. It is owned by Leon Fishman, who has been there for approximately twelve years. We booked a five night stay on B&B basis to include four days of diving near Loreto, and being already qualified... more

Once again Leon and his fine staff took splendid care of my wife and myself. This was our sixth or maybe seventh trip to the Baja Outpost... I think I'm losing count. We went for the wonderful diving and got the major bonus of seeing numerous pods of dolphins surrounding our boat almost everyday. On two occasions we were treated... more

If you read all the reviews below, you will get a picture of this place. If you want an American 5-star luxury hotel, don't come here. But if you want to experience the Baja peninsula and the awesome marine life of the Gulf of California, this is THE BEST place to go for the money. Sea kayaking, snorkeling, deep sea... more

After holidays in previous years that involved cruise ships and inclusive resorts, finding Baja Outpost and staying here for a week was a breath of fresh air. Every thing that other reviewers wrote is true so I will not repeat it. Here are some of my own points. First: Baja Outpost does not advertise as a resort! It is a... more

My girlfriend and I spent most of the month of February at the Baja Outpost in Loreto, Baja California. This place is truely a "Refuge from Civilization." There are 6 Polynesian Palapas complete with palm-thatced roofs and walls, build-in queen sized beds and an ample bathroom. All linens were changed daily and there was ample hot water. There are no... more

This resort is a series of contrast, I believe the phrase used before in a review “The Good, the Bad, and The Ugly” is in someways appropriate. It is important you read the review in its entirety because this adventure was enjoyable for my partner, and myself but for many people I can see how it would not be. I... more

My family and I just spent a fantastic week at the Baja Outpost. We are already planning our next trip and can’t wait to return. The Baja Outpost is conveniently located just a few minutes from the center of Loreto and right across the street from the Sea of Cortez. We were able to walk everywhere. Leon, his two children-Jose... more

They require you to pay upfront for everything online, and when I questioned the method ie (sending your credit card # and the code on the back and the expiration date) all in one email, Leon got very testy with me and told me to go elsewhere. more

We own at a timeshare that is currently building in Loreto so we decided to take a trip to check the place out. Even though the Baja Outpost is not as fancy of a place that we are used to staying at, the overall experience will never be forgotten. Leon provided us with interresting conversation every day over a great... more

Baja Outpost doesn't offer luxury. It does, however, provide the traveler lodging that is comfortable, convenient to the town center, reasonably priced and safe. It will be even better when the pool project is completed. Breakfast is included, and cooked to order. There is always fresh fruit, juice, cereal, and bread on the table. Coffee is ground and brewed on... more
