After coming to La Paz for a day trip with no plans, we ran out of options for a place to stay and started walking the streets. We happened on the Casa Tuscany sign and was happy to hear Carol answer our timbre ring. Her suites are tasteful and simple, and priced on par. Her breakfast was wonderful, and her... More

We have stayed at Casa Tuscany several times and never been disappointed. The complimentary breakfast is gourmet----Carol is a wonderful cook. The gardens are lovely and Casa Tuscany is located one block from the beach in the heart of town. It is near wonderful restaurants and stores. The perfect place to stay for one night or one month. Enjoy. Chris... More

Having returned to La Paz many times, we always settled for our usual small hotel. This year we decided to try something new and wish we'd found Casa Tuscany years ago. It is an oasis of nature, small touches and quality furnishings in a colorful, tastefully done decor. Carol is a delight, so personable, full of local knowledge and right-on... More

Dear Jim and Becky, I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night thinking about food. I mostly think about what I am going to prepare when the dawn comes. My chili cheese omelet was just such an inspiration. I am delighted you enjoyed it. I've added it to my list of breakfast entrees. Thank you for sharing your... More

Dear Friends, Location, Location, Location. Said often as relates to real estate, but obviously also important when choosing accommodations. Now that our weather in La Paz has warmed considerably, no one wants to have to walk very far. Being close to everything can make a big difference on whether to drive, take a taxi, or enjoy an easy stroll. I... More

Wonderful, clean, quiet air conditioned room with a very comfortable bed and small refrigerator half a block from the malecon and smack in the middle of everything. The table and chairs with umbrella on the balcony is a very nice spot to overlook the lovely garden while checking emails in the mornings. Fabulous breakfast! Can't imagine anyplace better to stay. Dear Sue, I am so sorry that I did not get the opportunity to meet you during your stay at Casa Tuscany. Lucky for me and for you, Patricia was available to cover for me while I took holiday. Pat is the original owner of the inn and an exceptional host. Her breakfasts, as you learned, are outstanding. One never... More

Highly recommended stay. Great service, got a lot of help from the host who made us delicious breakfast every morning. Nice and quiet area close to the malecon. Very pleasant outdoor aerea with tables, comfortable chairs, lots of plants, flowers and also a friendly cat. If we ever go to La Paz again, we will definately stay there!

And Carol is a wonderful and gracious host. The place is quaint and elegant and authentic and unique. We'd happily return. We enjoyed the personal touches- the special breakfasts, recommendations for local spots, colorful rooms. We felt at home. My daughter left a very important and personal piece of clothing at the Casa. We didn't know we'd left it behind... More

Dear Chris, Anne, Samantha and Zoe, You received the package! That is great news. I wrote several emails about the forgotten item, but did not hear back. I took a chance and sent it anyway. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Beyond the front gate and behind the walls of Casa Tuscany lies an inn reminiscent of a Tuscan villa. All guest rooms have private entry and open out onto a central courtyard where Costa's Hummingbirds rule. These friendly fliers are very curious and often buzz guests, especially if dressed in bright colors. The Malecon, or boardwalk, is only one block away and invites guests to stroll, bicycle, roller blade, or just sit on one of the many benches to watch the sea and the sunset. Casa Tuscany is close to just about everything in La Paz, encouraging visitors to get out there and experience the local culture without the encumbrance of a vehicle. Rooms are nicely appointed and all rates include taxes and a sumptuous breakfast. ... more   less
