We wife and I visited La Paz in late December and originally we had intended to spend 2 weeks at Las Gaviotas… we survived 3 nights! The problem of noise was evident from the moment we arrived. The owners are currently doing building work on the roof of the hotel and the sound of that goes on all day. Additionally,... More

We recently had the misfortune of spending a few nights at Las Gaviotas and we want to share our experiences with other travellers. This has to be the noisiest and most out-dated hotel in La Paz. The rooms have no sound-proofing and the poorly-equipped kitchen is falling apart. Everything is shabby and in need of a makeover and the bathrooms... More

We had an excellent room on their top floor with a magnificent view of the Bay of La Paz. All their rooms overlook the Bay.The rooms are quite large and comfortable with full kitchenettes included. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The managers, a French couple, Estele & Muhammed were excellent hosts, giving great recommendations for local restaurants, we... More

This is a great(aging, but super) hotel, right on the malecon, in La Paz. Two bedrooms, two baths, full kitchen, A/C, huge patio overlooking the Sea of Cortez. quiet. Very clean. The garage is secure, locked. Lovely pool. Manger on the premises. the only problem we had is that the refrigerator worked TOO well...froze the milk and the fruit! The... More

Our second time staying with Gail and Chalo at Las Gaviotas. Same great location, wonderful staff, and perfect accommodations. Each room is like a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment with a huge balcony. Amazing sunsets. Close to walk to anything you need/want. Secure garage if you have a car. Free WiFi in most parts of the building. Restaurants and grocery... More

As far as the property and location, I can't say enough. Wonderful, clean rooms (they do need some updating, but some pieces are lovely old Mexico), fantastic location, beautiful view. The outside is lovely with the pool, plants, and outside tables. The parking is secure. The food we had there was very good, the staff very accommodating. We especially enjoyed... More

We chose Las Gaviotas because of the great reviews. Further, the owner was always available to answer questions, make suggestions and discuss concerns. We loved it! I look back at some of the negative reviews and am glad I paid them no attention. It was a great location; owner and staff were most helpful and patient. We loved the apartment... More

What a terrific property! The location is spectacular - only steps from the malecon, restaurants and bars. The property is well kept and the units are roomy, clean, well furnished and very comfortable. The owners, Gail and Chalo, are friendly, accommodating and very attentive. We had an issue with our AC upon check-in and Gail took care of it immediately.... More

I wasn't going to do a review of our stay based on the saying, "If you don't have anything nice to say..." However, after reading the response to the complaints from Joe V and Olympia W, I feel compelled to warn other families of what to expect during the hot, humid summer months there! We were placed on the 4th... More
