I have never stayed in a resort with so many problems, AC didn't work, toilet didn't flush, no cold water to mix with hot water in the shower... Needless to say my girlfriend was not happy. The staff tried their best to fix our problems, however were unseccussful, we were ultimately moved to another room. The hotel staff did their... More

I spent 7 nights at Club Cantamar and just returned. The resort in fairness had recently experienced a hurricane but the overall condition of this resort is really poor. Yes, the hurricane caused damage but it is obvious no money has been spent on maintenance or upkeep at this property in years. It looks rundown and extremely tired. There is... More

I stayed 5 nights with my dog. The management was very accommodating, with a "no problemo" attitude. The rooms are nice with great ac. But this is no four-star resort; the grounds are dated and the surrounding area is a bit industrial as the ferry is nearby. It's classic Baja, so go with the right frame of mind and enjoy... More

We stayed the middle of June and appreciated the great a/c, as well as the clean bathroom, bed and overall hotel. It's not a 5 star resort but we found no major problems that others seem to have had. The restaurant had very nice food, both breakfast and dinner, and feeding the fish that hang out by the patio dining... More

This review relates only to the dive operations at Club Cantamar, as I stayed at their associated hotel Bugambilias in town (a better option unless you want to spend all your time out of town). This is by far the worst dive operation I have come across in 300+ dives. While the local staff are personable, the operation reeks -... More

This trip was really amazing. I stayed at Club Cantamar (CC) from 6 Oct - 16 Oct 2013. I was traveling solo primarily to use up expiring vacation days from work and I couldn't have made a better choice than to stay and dive at CC. Many people say that CC is too far from Centro La Paz but I... More

A place to sleep at night. The rooms were okay and moderately clean although several people had problems with broken air and no water ours was okay (after trading rooms with another member of our group). Very disorganized and no effort to improve. We chose this hotel due to its location and because they have nitrox. Oh wait there nitrox... More

We did not stay at this hotel, but had booked a trip with the dive shop. We reconfirmed our trip the evening before, was told that they would pick us up in our hotel lobby at 7:30 a.m. They never showed up, wouldn't answer their phone. Our hotel front desk person finally got them on the phone and all they... More

The hotel is located about 20 minutes outside of La Paz. I traveled with a group of 33 divers to the hotel. I was originally given a king room even though I was staying with my daughter. They were not going to change me to two doubles, but finally agreed. They gave my room to another father traveling with his... More

I'm presently sitting on the balcony of my room at Hotel Club Cantamar and taking a panoramic view. Here's the thing: It's kinda sparse. I'm surrounded by desert hills and a sheltered inlet, and across the street is the terminal that processes three ferries per day moving food and other materiel to the folks that live and work here. But... More
