We stayed here for a week in the dolphin room. Very charming and colorful. I loved the painted sink and toilet! All the furniture had carvings of dolphins the full size bed, the end tables, the dresser and the mirror! This is a wonderful place to stay. There is a grocery store within walking distance too. The malecon is a... More

My fiance and I recently visited La Paz on January 13, 2012 and had the pleasure of staying in Hacienda Paraiso. As soon as we met Richard and Gloria we felt very welcome and at home. Gloria you truly made me feel like family I appreciate the interest that both you and Richard express when discussing our plans of hosting... More

After a few days in a beautiful (but not very Mexican) resort in San Jose del Cabo, we headed up to La Paz for some time in "real" Mexico. Our first visit to La Paz was a delightful introduction to a charming little town. We chose Hacienda Paraiso because of its rave reviews on Trip Advisor, and it lived up... More

Many thanks for your kind words and especially for helping to set the record straight regarding LaPaz. Of all the towns to visit in Baja, LaPaz still has a unique beauty and charm reminiscent of the old Mexican villages. And with no time-share pushers or trinket street vendors, a relaxed and joyful experience can be had. Gloria and I had... More

My wife and I just spent a wonderful time at Hacienda Paraiso in January 2012. Richard and Gloria will always do their best to make your stay more memorable, and I can tell you the BB is even nicer than what it looks like in the official website pictures (which is quite rare to happen). Cleaness and the mexican breakfast... More

We love it when some of our guests write long beautiful reviews extolling their experiences at Hacienda Paraiso. And we also enjoy reading the brief and to the point heartfelt words of other guests who take the moment or two to synthesize their feelings into a few short sentences. As you are a "WORLD CLASS" traveller" , we always feel... More

Imagine a quaint seaside village in Mexico..The smell of the salt air, the bustle of local fisherman and tradesman going about their business, insuring that us visitors have the freshest of choices on the evenings menu and the most authentic of wares to select from in the local shoppes. As you walk along the Malecon that flanks both the Sea... More

We spent a very enjoyable and relaxing week over the New Year's holiday at the Hacienda Paraiso. Our hosts, Richard and Gloria were very welcoming and helpful, and we had several great converstaions with them about life in La Paz, and the natural attractions in that part of Baja. The Hacienda is extremely clean, well mantained, has nice gardens and... More

It was a very enjoyable experience having both of you with us and the opportunity to share some thoughts on ecology' and limnology; your vocation and one of my avocations. Unfortunately you needed to return to Edmonton just as the weather turned so unbelievably frigid(-40?) We have shared with others the lovely evening when you brought out your set of... More

Hosts are great and very helpful in any way they can. We needed to send a fax and they helped us do it. The Place? Great looking courtyard, with a very Mexican touch. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. You can park your car inside the property and under a roof. Breakfast was abundant and delicious and served a terrace overlooking... More

Our stay was excellent. It was more like going to visit a favorite uncle than anything. Rooms were nice. The grounds exceptional. Richard was a blast! We talked about everything from seashells to dinosaurs to Carl Sagan! Breakfasts were very good! I wouldn't stay anywhere else if I was in La Paz! A little bonus, there is indoor parking for... More

Not your typical B&B! Hacienda Paraiso is like staying at a beautiful boutique hotel but Richard and Gloria provide a better, friendlier service than you will find in a hotel. Also the best breakfast going around. In short, they have managed to create the perfect balance between a hotel experience with the home away from home feel of a B&B.... More

Having spent the last two nights at Richard & Gloria's home (which also happens to be a bed & breakfast) in La Paz, I'm not one bit surprised to see that they're ranked #1 in La Paz & the entire Baja Peninsula.
