We booked two nights here because it looked to be in a convenient location and it was the only place that had vacancy and allowed dogs. It was easy to find. Check in was fine, but they insisted on a $1,000 (pesos) deposit for the dog; no problem, I can't complain since they accept dogs ... It was pretty easy... More

It's the opposite of a chain hotel--thank God! We love to travel in the Baja and this was a nice discovery a few minutes walk from the water. Good walking neighbourhood, even if the streets look a bit rough. Friendly staff, good restaurant on site. The courtyard in charmingly and quirkily painted with Parisian street scenes. Rooms are simple with... More

This is what I want from a hotel in Mexico. Its not some generic hotel that could be anywhere in the world. I loved it, I felt I could be in an old western. The good: Spacious, quiet, well located, comfy beds, large shower, clean, happy pleasant staff and I must mention the rocking chairs outside the rooms... great. The... More

I rate Mexican hotels by Mexican standards. I read a review of this hotel from Jan. '14. The writer rated the hotel poorly because there was "no concierge, no porter, no room service." If those are important to you, don't expect to pay less than $50 for your room. You need to be at a resort, and don't expect everything... More

Bare bones. No porter, no elevator, no or spotty hot water, no wi-fi in room, no concierge, no room service, no restaurant when you want to eat. Located in a poorly lit neighborhood so sorta scary walking around at night.

This is a lovely mexican hotel that works great as a base for exploring the La Paz area. It has lovely murals on the ground floor around the walls that open up to the pool area. It helps if you have a little Spanish as few of the staff speak English but they are very helpful, friendly and manage to... More

Friendly staff great unassuming get away for couples, family and friends. Go fishing and have the chef cook your catch. Sit around the pool and enjoy a beverage. Comfortable casual surroundings. Not fancy. Enjoy the dining menu or the chef will make what your heart desires.

We booked a 6-day stay at Hacienda Bugambilias online, after deciding that we didn't need something more upscale (or expensive). For the price, this place worked well for us. The staff is very friendly & helpful, tolerating our elementary Spanish, answered all our questions about the town, and generally provided us with excellent service. The courtyard is beautiful, especially at... More

I don't know what they remodeled, but it surely wasn't the beds and decor. The restaurant did not offer what they advertised as far as the various types of cuisine. When we first pulled up in front of the hotel, I thought it was closed. No curb appeal, and the pool needed resurfacing or painting. Very tacky. My worst fears... More

The pool is fabulous. It was our favorite thing about this hotel. The rooms are average looking, but very clean and spacious. The restaurant on the first floor has nice breakfasts and coffee, and the waiters are more than happy to bring your drinks or food over to the pool-- which is very nice. Antonio and Oscar are the nicest,... More
