We stayed here in mid April, 2014. Our room was simple and clean. There was a great flat screen tv and comfortable beds. It seemed to be a good value hotel on the main stretch of beach in LaPaz. However, around 9pm, loud construction began behind the hotel. Beeping construction vehicles, hammering, men whistling and screaming, loud engines idling, and jack... More

Don't be fooled by the photo the beach and the hotel are not connected. However it is in a very good location. The rooms were large and clean and the staff helpful and friendly. However the restaurant service was very very slow and the food was ok. I highly recommend trying the chiliquiles as the salsa is very different from... More

It's been said before, but you can't beat the location if you want or need to stay in La Paz proper. Hotel Perla is situated near many great restaurants, plus you are right on the Malecon. Also convenient to the bus station, several car rentals, and a few realty places. Rooms and common areas are clean, and the staff friendly... More

Hotel Perla is a gem. What started as a shot in the dark turned into a wonderful finale to our Baja vacation. Hotel Perla is perfect for anyone who loves the old Mexico - it is an impeccably maintained mid-century hotel that has managed to grow gracefully with La Paz. Staff were superb, people cleaning floors and walls throughout the... More

This hotel is right on the Malcolm, literally footsteps away from all of the action. Rooms are clean, service is friendly, nice view from the balcony, refreshing pool, and two hot tubs. Complementary continental breakfast in restaurant right next door. Beds are comfortable but the pillows are really hard.Very convenient location.

It's at the centre of where you'd want to be but if you're the kind of traveler looking for a boutique hotel with a lot of personality - this isn't it. It's fairly large and while the folks at the desk do what they can to be helpful, it isn't personal... They do give you a basic breakfast with the... More

I rolled into town on a day when the cell service and internet were down due yo a cut cable in the sea of Cortez. The staff were still really friendly and helpful. I didn't meet any real English speakers behind the desk but there was no problem. The room was great, the a/c and shower were the nicest I... More

Excellent location on the Malecon, adequate and clean rooms, helpful staff. Free, off-street parking if you have a car. Yes, some rooms can be noisy. Front desk helped us identify a quiet room so it worked out well. Many rooms have a water view. Small pool, lukewarm "hot" tubs. Terrific terrace above the pool to relax, watch the action on... More

Don't overthink it, just go an enjoy it! Yes, it is a older basic hotel (with some history) with just adequate amenities but... -Location is perfect, right in the middle of the Malecon. -From early AM until late in the evening, people are out walking, jogging, dining, driving along etc. -You may want to ask for a quiet room, if...
