My boyfriend and I wanted to have a weekend for Valentines day. While we were there wanted to check it out for a posible wedding venue for us to have our wedding. Let me Tell you that I was so disappointed and could never even think to have my friends and family come there. The first thing is there is... More

Amazing views! Great restaraunt with amazing views. . Staff was very helpful and courteous. The ocean view room had a balcony that overlooked the cliffs and we could hear the crashing of the waves throughout the night. .. With all of that said. . The bedspread and pillow cases were from 1967 and maybe not washed since.. we had to... More

We just returned from a three day trip down to Baja California. We stayed one night at the Newport Beach hotel which has combined with the Grand Baja resort in Puerto Nuevo. We had a view of both the ocean and the pool area. Room was not spectacular but it served the purpose. It was clean, the grounds were nice... More

Always wanted to stop by and check out Calafia since I was a kid and finally did a few weeks ago. We stopped in to check it out and grab lunch on our way back to the states after a fun little surf trip with my wife. They had a few rooms open but everything else was closed and boarded... More

This place is good for the budget travel or the student looking for a cheap getaway near Rosarito and Puerto Nuevo. It is about a hour and change from Ensenada, but it is a beautiful drive to that city. We paid about 35 USD a night for a full bed. That includes secure parking, but not much else. I'd love... More

My husband and I booked our wedding (Renewing our Vows) at Hotel Calafia for May 2009. He received orders to deploy so we were unable to have it on that date. After June 2009 they required for everyone to have passports when going to Mexico... which most of my family do not have. We have already been married for three... More

I sympathize with the hotel guest that left bad reviews about hotel Calafia, when we went with my family and friends to a wedding back in 2006 we thought that it was going to be a nice stay, boy were we wrong, back then it was just as bad with the smell, and the sinks in the bathrooms were disgusting... How do you begin to explain all the things that went wrong beginning with the refusal to honor the quoted reservation price at check in; it was doubled by the desk clerk who explained that the person who originally accepted my reservation and quoted the price was no longer working at the hotel? I was there for my niece's wedding... More

I regularly check trip advisor before booking any type of vacation yet have never written a review. After staying at this poor excuse of a hotel, I felt extremely compelled. This was one of the worst hotel stays my wife and I have ever experienced. I didn't check the reviews because my wife had already booked a room since one... More

My wife and I were married this june at Hotel Calafia. We have been going every month for the last couple of years. We have read all of the nasty reviews and want to make it clear that this hotel is great as long as you don't forget you're in Mexico. It is very private and their is a quaint... More
