How do you begin to explain all the things that went wrong beginning with the refusal to honor the quoted reservation price at check in; it was doubled by the desk clerk who explained that the person who originally accepted my reservation and quoted the price was no longer working at the hotel? I was there for my niece's wedding... more

I regularly check trip advisor before booking any type of vacation yet have never written a review. After staying at this poor excuse of a hotel, I felt extremely compelled. This was one of the worst hotel stays my wife and I have ever experienced. I didn't check the reviews because my wife had already booked a room since one... more

My wife and I were married this june at Hotel Calafia. We have been going every month for the last couple of years. We have read all of the nasty reviews and want to make it clear that this hotel is great as long as you don't forget you're in Mexico. It is very private and their is a quaint... more

After reading reviews we were afraid to stay here but our niece was getting married so we arrived ready to clean our own room and sleep with the lights on. We loved the hotel and staff. Our room was clean with two nicely firm queen beds, and the ocean view was spectacular. This is an older hotel with a great... more

MY first mistake was to not read reviews before I booked the reservation. The room was not ready when we got there and we had to wait for 30 minutes, which is long when you have two children. I have a one year old and I was not aware that there was not a refrigarator, no airconditioner, no telephone, and... more

Where do I begin? I visited Calafia not by choice in the early fall of 2007 for a friends wedding. I had flown from Boston to San Diego and drove down to Mexico for the nuptials. Getting to Calafia was fun. There was no sign and the dump, I mean hotel, was located off of a dirt road. Upon check... more

I don't even know where to begin. We stayed there for my cousin's wedding. I didn't want to stay there after reading the reviews, however, all of my family were staying there and I didn't want to stay alone in Mexico. The rooms were disgusting. I'm not exaggerating. It has tile floors that are never mopped. The television was nothing... more

Where do I begin? The website is so misleading it should be criminal! First of all the rooms are so small you can barely walk around the bed. The bathroom has no tub, only a shower that looks like it will fall down any second. Also there is hot water sometimes that is if the handle does not fall off... more

This place is disgusting. Sure it has a beautiful view of the ocean, but the rooms are nasty. I would not recommend this place for what it costs. The room we stayed in smelled like the worst kind of mildew. I was so looking forward to laying out by the pool......forget it. The pool was small and dirty with 2... more
