Drove down with friends and family from San Diego. If anyone is concerned about doing this - relax. It's about as easy a drive as you can get. Stopped off at Puerto Nuevo for the lobster. Prices are only about 10% less than the U.S. The hotel is about 20km south from the center of Ensenada. It's surrounded by a... More

Drove down here from San Diego with friends.....the best part was the numerous wineries nearby! Ensenada was a congested town to drive through on a Saturday nite.....the resort is old but in decent shape....mot crowded....pool was nice.....not a beach type place....the water was very tidal with limited beach access.......nice place and the restaurant onsite was decent. Nothing like a Cozumel... More

We haven't been down to Baja for 10 years because of safely concerns. The Hotel Estero Beach Club is gated and has 24 hour security. It's a lovely hotel with nice grounds and pool area including two spas. The first night we were in a very mediocre room with a parking lot view because we had used Booking.com. The hotel... More

The property is amazing, I ran every morning and loved the safety and freedom it allows. The views are completely amazing from the suites. In the morning I enjoyed eating at the on site restaurant- very affordable and high quality. The only down side was the water from the shower never got hot and the overall feel for the room... More

Stayed for one night. It is located 30km south from downtown and its decoration a bit old-styled. Despite, rooms and common areas were kept clan and functioning propperly. The prices are too high for the quality; the amount for a standard bedroom can afford way better things in other places. Nevertheless, the view was spectacular and it was a good... More

This is certainly one of the nicer hotels in and around Baja California Norte. It has been here for a reasonable amount of time. It lacks a bit the old world charm but other wise it is very nice.. The rooms are well appointed and the price is reasonable.

Be sure to ask the bartender Mike to make you one his specialty drinks: Margarita or a Spicy Bloody Mary. An excellent selection of cigars available for purchase also. Estero now has a Sushi Chef -- Eric. We had the most fabulous Sushi -- fresh, delicious and flavorful. We asked Eric to surprise us with some of his favorite recipes,... More

The reason for the 3 star rating is that compared to USA or European standards this is the correct rating for this hotel. For Mexico, or any other 3rd world country the rating would be 4 stars. I understand I am a tough sell but my daughter is 15 and she agreed !! So, some advice. Keep your receipts and... More

This resort was sparsely occupied while we were there last weekend. A property of this type in Southern California would easily cost 3x the room rate that Hotel Estero charges, even out of season. The views, bed, room furnishings and the restaurant next door all get high marks. A great place to appreciate the rugged beauty of the Baja coast,... More
