Stayed at El Cid over New Years. Staff was friendly, helpful. Room was spacious, small balcony over the street. The room itself was dated, could use updating. Carpet a bit skeevy, sheets had stains on them. Very strange artwork in my room-framed folded Mexican blanket with sheets of scotch taped together construction paper as the background. They did change the... More

Truly a "rustic" hotel in a great location-close enough to walk to everything but not near a noisy bar, great eats just steps away from reception. Very clean, nice room, queen bed was very comfortable (and my girlfriend would say so if it wasn't), and although there is no lift, the staircases are easy to climb since they only go... More

A very well-kept colonial hotel. The hotel is surrounded by interesting shops and a great variety of good restaurants .... and all within walking distance. The hotel has it's own parking lot which makes it convenient for visitors travelling by car.

I enjoyed the stay. Staff was helpful, caring and nice. Thank Eduardo for your hospitality. Also nicodemus was very helpful. I loved the secured free parking on site. The pool was beautiful. Walking distance to downtown.

The best thing about BW El Cid is it's situation, right on a main throughfare and a few blocks from Ensenadas main party scene. The cost seems pretty fair for this reason, as inside it's OK, nothing more. Clean, certainly, but starting to show its age. The room was spacious and had a kitchenette, but without utensils so it's really... More

Many hotels in Mx are not quite up to US standards. However, all 10 of us were extremely satisfied with our stay at the El Cid. The staff was friendly and very helpful every step of the way. Yes, the rooms were furnished with older furniture but it was sturdy, clean and comfortable. The restaurant next door was fantastic. Great... More

Stayed at the El Cid for 3 nights in Oct 2014 and enjoyed my stay for the most part. Good location, in the main street but still quiet enough in general. Nice pool area and while I was there, I saw no-one use it or even sit around it (apart from me). Continental breakfast is a bit boring and meagre.with... More

First drive down to Ensenada, A bit out of the way, since the "carretera Federal" is not 100% complete yet. But Still, Perfect Central location. Quiet. On the 3rd floor, the room leads into a small hallway, then down two steps, into a huge main room with Bar, And Barstools. All Wood And Mirrors. The Bathroom, was two steps up.... More

I understand why so many like this hotel. The location is great, the rooms are quaint, and the staff is very helpful. This would be a great choice for many folks. If you have mobility issues, maybe not so much. The rooms are located on the second floor and above, and there is no elevator. My room, and I assume... More

My husband and I have been staying at the El CID for the past 16 years. The rooms have a rustic Mediterranean vibe. Stay in level 2 back patio room if you want a nice big comfy patio over the pool...or on the street side during Carnival (the best time to visit). The restaurant has a great Sunday brunch. The...
