This was a very last minute planned trip and we always get a good room here. Yes the hotel is dated, yes there is not much flare to it. However you can not beet the customer service, private parking, and the recently remodeled guest hall ways. Go to Ensenda for the fun, stay at the El Cid for convenience.

Stayed at the El Cid for four days last week and it was a good hotel. Staff were very helpful even when we locked ourselves on our deck. The pool area is very nice but they are doing a bunch of renovations so there were a lot of workers sawing and stuff. One day the pool was completely closed. Still... More

THE GOOD. A lot of good things for the hotel. The reasonable price, it's clean, the location in the middle of the action with plenty of restaurants around, the nice employees. THE BAD: No elevator, aging hotel. THE UGLY. Nothing.

We drove down from San Diego to stay a night and enjoy the Guadalupe Valley wineries. The room is small and dated, but it's quaint. Our room was on the top floor and faced the pool, which made for a quiet stay. I'd stay there again in the future.

Stayed here in 2005, when we drove down the coast (a must do) and found it as a brand new building, just opening. Great views and balcony's were part of the rooms. The location is central to the downtown shopping and restaurants. The rooms were clean and the staff really good (especially to US clients). We reccomend

We just came back from staying at best western the staff were very friendly it's just what you expect. the only issues were the front desk clerk made a mistake and charged our credit card for one night when I booked for 2 he later checked my reservation and said that he only charged me for one night I think... Clean rooms, a little noisy if you get a room close to the street. People working there is nice the bad thing is that they don't have elevator so you have to carry your suitcases all the way up (or down depending). They give you coffee and some fruit or cookies in the mornings. Location is the best thing of... More

We were three adult couples traveling from Texas - we met at the San Diego Airport, rented a minivan (we purchased Mexican insurance) and drove to Ensenada BCN, Mexico. Border crossing into Mexico was quick and uneventful, beautiful ocean views on the drive to Ensenada. Hotel is a well kept older building, rooms clean with a/c. Rooms with street view... More

Location is the biggest advantage of this hotel. Its on the happening place in town- reasturants/ shopping / pubs all on the same road. Safe locality- Rooms are good- comfortable-, disadvantage- music/ noise from near by hang out, which can go up to 1 am, AC- was too noisy, and force of water in upper floors is a concern. Wifi...
