I loved the Meling Ranch but I think people considering a stay here should be forewarned. The setting is so scenic...surrounded by high mountains, cattle grazing, swimming pool, volley ball, hiking etc. It's delightful. However, there is only electricity for a few hours each day, which could be inconvenient for some. The rooms are clean, but small and the beds... More

We recently did a couples RZR trip in Norther Baja and stayed 1 night at Meling Ranch. We made reservations in advance and were pleasantly greeted when we arrived. The food was excellent and the accommodations were great as well. My family stayed here in 2013 and we were pleased then as well.

One thing not mentioned here is the one hour plus drive from Highway 1 on a very winding road that prohibits going more than 50 MPH. I was told when making the reservation there was electricity but it was not mentioned that the rooms have no electricity at all. So here it is in the high 80's and I arrived... More

the rooms were clean, great ranch experience with horse riding and typical ranch meals. Christian Meling and his staff were really kind, even prepared a vegetarian meal option for my wife. The pool is a great plus when returning from hikes in the national park. When the lights are out at 10 pm the star gazing beats everything.

Perfect stay for visting the observatory or san pedro martir national park. I had previously stayed at the park's cabins. But you have to carry everything including gas for hot meals and bed sheets. Rancho meling has hot water with good pressure and a tinder heater for cold nights. Very recomendable.

We arrived on dirt bike with no reservation and the ranch was booked up! Thankfully, with Christian's inquiry on our behalf, a family that was renting the 4-bedroom house said it was ok for us to stay in one of the rooms they weren't using. Everyone we met here was wonderful. The family-style dinner and breakfast encourages meeting strangers, swapping... More

We had a great two day stay at Meling. The ranch is comfortable. It is rustic, but the place is very clean and the staff is excellent. We rode our mottos right out the door to the many tracks in the area. Highly recommended for an off the beaten path adventure.

Rooms are a little rustic but comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. Nice hot showers, a swimming pool and recreation room with pool table and a well stocked library. There are BBQ's for picnicing or you can pay for home cooked meals that are EXCELLENT!!! Temporary power at night until 10PM. After that it's time for star gazing. DARK SKYS!!! The... More

The environment is great, it is nice to stop half way between the M1 and the national park. The rooms are very clean. The food is good. But : - no fridge in the room - part time electricity - you must pay for every thing - English not spoken except a bit by one guy - only informations about... More

We were riding roughly 300 miles along the Baja coast and stopped here one evening. We arrived just before sunset and the mountains were gorgeous with the moon rising on the other side! We rented the big cabin to accommodate all the riders. We hit the pool for a few minutes before the dinner bell rang... the ladies at Melings... More
