Part our business trip to Statia, I booked two rooms for two nights in this hotel using "booking.com". I received four emails to confirm; two for the correct dates and two for wrong dates. I emailed directly to the hotel informing them about this. Never received an email back or thank you. Upon arrival, they did not have our reservation... More

Nothing spectacular, best part of stay was the little oceanfront bar\restaurant. I question why people never smile, friendly customer service is not a common thing here or maybe not even on many of the islands. Ask for a blanket otherwise the sheet on your bed (thats all you get) will not provide constant comfort all night.

...and while we look forward to revisiting some places, once was enough. The service was fine, the food delicious, the historic nature of the inn not as much as we had hoped for. It was fun to get our bottle of wine with what seemed to be a fire cracker attached to it.We enjoyed visiting the island and accomplished our... More

My husband, daughter and I returned to Statia, the OGHouse and Golden Rock Dive Center again this year. We normally don't return to an island twice but because my husband was injured last year and the diving was sooo good, we decided to return. We really like the hotel. Not fancy, but quiet, quaint, and very clean. The dinners at... More

A poor hotel. Staff seem dis-interested and just 'going through the motions'. The rooms are of an old colonial style which is nice, very clean, but no with no facilities, no water, no coffee. TV signal is intermittent. The shower had no pressure whatsoever. I complained about this on check-out, but was met with a disinterested look and just an... More

The place has a lot of old world charm. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Our room was on the second of two floors which was a bit of a hike up the stairs. It had two beds; one king and one twin. While a small fridge was provided, it lacked a microwave and a room safe. Meals were provided... More

Nothing negative can be said about Old Gin! The staff was perfect, everyone would stop and say hello, the grounds were gorgeous, the food was delicious, and the experience was wonderful. We stayed for a week and dove at Scubaqua and when we return there is no doubt we will return to Old Gin! Thank you for the wonderful week!

A short trip to Statia on business was required in November. The Hotel was one of the highlights and I had a great ground floor beach side room. The Staff were extremely kind and helpful, even to the point of lending me a plug for my UK phone and pc charger. The evenings food was a delight, the Bar B... More

Stayed for 4 nights in the Royal Ocean View Suite at the Old Gin House which was arranged via Scubaqua. Such a unique and historic property situated in the ruined waterfront. As other writers have noted the ocean suite is across the street and detached from the main hotel which houses the reception, pool area and set of multi-level apartment... More
