Went back to the Old Gin House after our initial visit, to our surprise, new manager and he's doing a great job. They have corrected to mediocre interaction with the staff and now they are actually glad to see you - food is still great and the place really looks good.

Recently we were the lucky guests attending a wedding on Statia! As written in the title of my review it was an unforgettable experience! To be honest I must have heard about Statia before but could I really tell you anything about it? No. Would I have ever picked Statia as one of our holiday locations? Probably not. Good thing... The bay where the Old Gin House is located just oozes its colonial history and the OGH blends in perfectly. A beautiful old warehouse complex with a newer section directly on the waterside. Our spacious room was very nice. Good and quiet Airconditioning, comfortable bed and good yet bit dated bathroom. No noise from adjoining rooms. Staff was a bit... More

Arriving at the Old Gin House we were happy to see the neat and nice decorated lobby. They have nice furniture and a very big tv there. We were too early for check-in so we went for lunch at the restaurant across the street. Pretty soon they brought the key there and we could enter the room. The room looked... More

I recently spent five nights in the Old Gin House as part of a spectacular wedding on a spectacular little island. To me it felt walking onto the set of Pirates of the Caribbean. OGH complements that very well. The main building is just a perfect for the island and I stayed in a thoroughly redecorated room next to the... More

We are no strangers to the OGH and love to visit the Island now and then. Even so much that we decided to get married on Statia. In the restaurant business ourselves we see about 2 weddings per week on the beach on Curacao, which is great but just not for us. We wanted to treat our guests to "something... More

My wife and I had a wonderful time here. The staff was amazing! One of the best dinners of my life. The room was comfortable bed/ac ect. Loved the pool and beach. The charm and history made my wife fall in love with the location. Staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Great job old gin house!... More

We ended up at the Old Gin House by mistake while we were looking for a restaurant but liked the hotel so much that we left the one we were staying in and moved to the Old Gin House. I visited all the four hotels listed on Tripadvisor and I have to say that this is the only decent property... More

I went for a drink at the bar of the Old Gin restaurant with some friends. We paid 7.5 US dollars for (half) a glass of wine!!! How can they justify this? That is just crazy! It's not that this small island is like Paris or New York...

Dear Overseas 18, First of all, we like to use (and enjoy!) good wine. While we understand that you may find the prices on the Island on the high side, please note that everything is brought in by ship or by plane from St. Maarten. It does make everything more costly. We hope you and your friends had a good... More

Stayed at the Old Gin House while diving with Scubaqua. Location is perfect; less than 100 yards from the dive shop and right near the water. The rooms were clean and the maintenance crew was constantly cleaning the grounds and pool. As you would expect on a small island, running water comes from a cistern so you will be drinking... More
