I was in Baru with my two children in August 2014 and we had a wonderful stay at Playa Manglares. Olga is a wonderful host and makes you feel welcome and part of the family. The place is very nice and well organized. It is very quiet and away from the confusion and crowd of Paya Blanca. Olga organized for... More

I spent a couple of nights at Playa Manglares (then BaruChica) with my mom, aunt and 16 year old cousin in May of 2012. The time spent in Olga's home will forever remain a very special memory for us. Even taking a shower was a delightful experience, in an outdoor spiral shower or vintage tub within the house. Olga has... More

Playa Manglares is the best place to spend peaceful and lazy holidays. The hosts of this lovely place - Señora Olga and Señor Marcelo – made our stay magical and unforgettable. The house has three rooms located on three floors so when we were there in group of four friends - the house belonged just for us and the owners.... More

I have been fortunate enough to have visited Playa Manglares many times. Everytime I leave this very special place, I take with me warm and peaceful memories of my time spent there, the people I shared the island with and of course, of Olguita, who makes "la magia" happen! I look forward to my next visit.

It is hard to do Playa Monglares justice solely with words. You realize how special this place is once you step out of the cab and get a warm embrace from your host Olga. The feeling you get when at a family cottage mixed with wild outback lodging in a remote untouched paradise describes Playa Monglares best. The Eco-lodge is... More

My boyfriend and I spent three wonderful days at Playa Manglares. The lodge itself is beautiful, and beautifully situated. We started out on the first floor -- white, cool despite the 90 degree heat, spacious, well-furnished, and opening directly onto the porch and dining area. That first day and night we had the place to ourselves, and just read in... More

Good points: This is a lovely, peaceful place, near the water, on the lee side of the island. The staff is friendly and it is easy to while away the day with a good book in a hammock. Mangroves growing wilding all around the place provide shade and the breeze blowing through them is a nice sound effect with the... More

We spent an unforgettable time in Baruchica, a place where we hopefully return one day. A stylish and cozy hostel, a serene atmosphere, very warm welcome by the hostess Olga and her staff, tasty local food and very accessible to children. Thanks Olga and all the nice people working with you for this wonderful 4 days.

First let me say that Olga is a very nice person and the concept of Baruchica is good. However, we paid $220 (US) per night and that is way overpriced for what we received. Breakfast is included but lunch and dinner are extra and the food is not that good. For example, one dinner we paid $15 for humus and... More

We loved Baruchica! We spent 3 nights and days there, wish it was longer. Everything was great. The place is so open. We wound up having the place to ourselves (though it would have been nice to meet other people.) we thoroughly enjoyed every moment.
