A small party of us stayed recently for 2 nights. This is an unpretentious old fashioned country pub with friendly staff. The rooms although not large are quite adequate and the price is very reasonable. The food for evening meal is excellent both in choice and quality - don't expect an artistic display on your plate - this is country... More

A party of eleven of us booked a meal on a busy Saturday evening and had nothing but praise for the efficient and friendly service, the varied menu and, of course, the quality of all the food served. Finally, the cost was very reasonable indeed. Highyl recommended.

Admittedly this review is a few years late - we stayed here in May 2007 - but certainly wanted to leave a review..... We had a lovely stay at the Moors Inn - chosen so we could bring our dog and they didn't disappoint. Centrally located for exploring both the Moors and the Dales of North Yorkshire. Our room was... we were moved to The Moors Inn at the last minuet when our original booking turned out to be unsuitable. I think we got the better deal. My sister and I took our 74yr old mother as a birthday treat. The hotel is very clean and quiet which is just what we were looking for. Sally, who was on the... More

My walking partner and I called by for a pint just after lunch Thursday, 26th May. There was nobody else in the bar. The barman/landlord(?) looked surprised and unwelcoming as we entered but assured us he was still open. We were duly served with our (well kept) hand-pulled ale. His manner was surly and diffident throughout. It was raining and... More

Popped in for lunch after a 5 mile walk in early March. Excellent welcome and attention to initial drinks order. Several cozy rooms to eat in. Service was excellent and friendly and the food wonderful and v reasonably priced. In particular the Black Sheep bitter was the best I've tasted, whoever is managing the cellar clearly knows his stuff. It... More

This little Inn is fantastic. I stayed here with my daughter (8) and a gang of friends for the goth/halloween weekend in whitby. The inn is in a lovely quiet village and away from the hussle and bussle... about a 20 minute drive to Whitby. The inn is very clean and the food in the restaurant for evening meal and... More

Chose The Moors Inn as it is dog friendly but whether with or without dog, it does not matter. The place is spotless and immaculately clean. It is an excellent example of how an Inn/Hotel can cater for different guests requirements without conflict. The Moors is the only place in the village but as it serves great real ale and... More
