Booked in as a stopover with family on way back to Tunnel. Meal was terrible and expensive, staff and manager rude and ignorant. I would never stay there again and would suggest you choose somewhere else if you are looking for a stop over.

The hotel is very convenient for the ferry and also for visiting nearby WW 1 battlefields. It is situated in a former mining village and while that may lack charm the hotel itself, situated in an elegant old building, does not. It has been thoroughly modernised in a contemporary style, with some quirky touches and often in a colour scheme... More

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for about 10 days in late June/early July. We had been staying in hotels in the south of France for several weeks and were on our way back to the UK when we booked ourselves into the Maison Rouge for a couple of nights. It was so nice to be in such... More

The decoration and style of the hotel is very good and rooms are very pleasant and modern. The restaurant was full and directions to alternatives were not good. The room we had was extremely smokey - I had forgotten that smoking is still allowed in hotels abroad, so if you want non-smoking make sure it is specified.

Like most other guests I was very pleased with our visit. The car park is good and safe, the hotel looks and feels clean. The room was an okay size and the beds, toilet and shower were lovely. The restaurant has a weird funky design feel to it, and the food was of a very good standard. The food was... More

Thought we would try a smaller hotel as a stop over on our journey to the south of France. Not the best start as the hotel firstly got the wrong date and then the wrong room !I rang Booking.com to express my concerns and they took 8 minutes to answer the call.On arrival first impression recovered some of our concerns .Imposing... This hotel has obviously had a lot of money spent on it. The public rooms are elegant yet quirky. The bedrooms are a little minimalist but very comfortable and the bathrooms are extremely well done. The problem for us was the restaurant. The quality of the food was good (although perhaps a little pricey). It appears to be highly regarded... More

A little of the main motorway and well positioned. Good safe free parking. Booked superior room it was a suite!! Staff spoke little english but we managed to understand each other ok. Dinner was superb in a very smart restaurant, frequeneted by the locals, always a good sign. Coffee was served outside on the terrace. A perfect stay.

We booked this hotel as a stopover so that we could visit the Somme Battlefields on our journey home. Excellent choice as it is near the autoroute, has secure parking, comfortable modern rooms and a good restaurant. The staff are very helpful and friendly, a most enjoyable experience.

reading the recent reviews it is difficult to say more - I agree with them all. On our way back from a six country Euro tour we booked this hotel as it was ideally suited to our needs for a stop-over. I had planned the whole itinerary and it`s fair to say that some of my hotel bookings were not... More
