Spent yesterday there. Welcome from owner superb. Bedroom superb. Library etc superb. The gardens were well worth a walk. The food was of Micheilin Star quality, if not better and the service fabulous. I'd tried to book this place twice before but it was full. I can see why. It's not cheap, but for what you get it really is... More

On arriving at the mustard seed, we were warmly greeted by the owner who remembered my Mum from a previous visit. We were offered drinks in the beautiful sitting room before going for our meal. The food was excellent, making use of seasonal produce and well presented. Although portions were small, I was satisfied at the end of the meal... More

We visited as part of an extended family group to celebrate a significant birthday of a sibling. I have stayed at more exotic locations around the world and have tasted more unusual or exotic foods but the warmth of welcome extended by proprietor Dan sets The Mustard Seed/Echo Lodge apart from others. The offer of a cup of tea and... More

We spent three nights at the Echo Lodge in Ballingarry. We felt personally hosted by Dan the owner and John Edward his manager. We could not walk past either of them without an offer of tea. They insisted we not work (yes we wanted to use their wifi!). Our suite had 2 bedrooms with bathrooms en suite. Every corner was... More

I am going against the majority of recent reviews but having read them I was very disappointed. My disappointment stems from the prices charged and what you receive. In relation to the house (1) bedroom- our room number 7- it needs repainted with paint coming off the walls around the mirror. There was a small hole in the wall by... More

I stayed here with my mum for two nights thanks to a voucher from my brother. From the moment of arrival the warm welcome made us feel right at home. Dan and his team are so warm, friendly and helpful. They just couldn't do enough for us, the service was so personal. They gave us directions to numerous places and... More

We went here for my Mother's birthday as a special occasion and the food was outstanding. Will definitely go back here again soon. The service, the atmosphere and the food were all top class. Couldn't recommend it enough!

This was our 2nd trip to Echo Lodge - and I can't believe that it surpassed our first stay! Dan and this team are amazing and so lucky to live in this wonderful Ossis. They welcome everyone like old friends, offering tea and home made snacks to us weary travellers. Our room was lovely and like the rest of the... More

Really enjoyed our stay on the way back from Waterville. Greeted warmly and offered coffee and cookies on the terrace. Room was beautifully decorated and we slept like babies. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, menu had a sonnet and at breakfast we got another a greeting. Nice touch! Our dog was given a welcome pack. Dan thinks of everything. We'll... More

We arrived to such a warm welcome from Daniel the owner who served us tea and cookies on the terrace. Daniel made our stay in The mustard seed even more memorable as he really made us feel at home and chatted away to us even serving us complimentary champagne and freshly picked raspberries at dinner. Our bedroom and indeed the... More
