When we stayed here we got the impression that it definitely was the village local. Large comfortable room. Dinner served either in the bar or restaurant (our choice) was lovely although perhaps a bit pricey. However the full English breakfast was good and was included in the room price which we thougt was very reasonable.

This place does not match its website. The beds are comfortable and clean, the food is ok and pricey but that's about it. From the outside the approacxh is scruffy and unkempt, the abandoned reception is not a good sign and nor is the smell. The room we had was in desperate need of refurbishment as was the whole property... More

What a soulless and dreary place. We booked 4 nights but only stayed for 2. This is basically a pub for locals, and the proprietors let out rooms and certainly dont have have any interest in their guests. The toiletries, which they make a point of mentioning in their blurb, on the first day consisted of half used individual tiny... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Penscott Inn. The room we had was clean and comfortable, and the facilities were fine. The shower in our room was good - the water was hot and the flow more than sufficient. Breakfast was good and the evening meals we had in the pub were enjoyable too. The owners were helpful in providing... More

My wife and I have just returned from a 2 night break at the Penscot Inn. The location of this Inn is ideal for touring the area as it is close to all the main attractions. The village is quite small with a convenience store and another pub that looked as if it had shut down. I have split this... More

We have just returned after a one night stay at the Penscot Inn. Pleasant hotel, clean rooms, with very nice beds, in a lovely quiet village. Very good service and all at a good price. The breakfast was excellent and we had a very good evening meal in the restaurant. Would stay there again as it is ideal for visiting... More

From a friendly welcome, to a very spacious room - this place was a great find for myself and my partner. Clean, very comfy bed, spacious room, great service and staff, very reasonable bar tariff (must try the local cider), full of character - I think some other reviewers have been far too picky.. If you want a good sleep,... More

Stayed here for one night on our way to Devon. The inn was nice but has the potential to be exceptional. It seems that the place has been refurbished on a budget, such a pity when it could be so much better, however the cost of the stay reflected this, very reasonable. The village is very quiet and the other... More

When you turn up, the car park looks very dirty and shabby, blocks of old wood piled up outside. Did not inspire me with confidence! Walking up the stairs to our room, we noticed the carpet was very old, shabby and almost threadbare! There was a big patch of damp in the ceiling near our room which meant that the... More

we booked 2 nights for a double en-suite room this weekend, when we arrived our booking was not on their list,( we have just found out we were put in a single occupancy room.,) which was very small to say the least, not enough toiletries or coffee foe 2 people. door would no shut because the handle was broke. totally...
