We stayed here as a couple for one night recently. The stay was comfortable and there was a good welcome on arrival. The room was clean and the location in the countryside is very nice. On the downside, the bed has a plastic sheet which makes it a little uncomfortable so we didn't sleep wonderfully. The room also backed onto... More

Came here with my young daughter after a great day at Cheater zoo. Booked online as it was on offer and sounded ok. The room smelt stale when we got there, and the bedding was far from fresh. Now I'm no snob and have stayed in some holes in my time, but none have disguised it as a country house... More

We spent last Friday night at The Rhinewood as it is a favourite of ours for an easy Friday night getaway to visit Culcheth with it's bars and restaurants. It was, as usual excellent value for money. We paid 52 pounds for bed and breakfast. Our room was spotlessly clean and warm and the bed very comfortable. We got a... More

This was a last minute booking. Shortly after booking the hotel sent me an e-mail to say the restaurant would be closed that night - which I thought a good touch, as it meant I could eat elsewhere on my way to the hotel. Check-in was quick and efficient. I asked what time breakfast was and was told from 08:00... More

We were a little worried when we arrived as the outside looked a little neglected, it could be lovely outside very under used, but once we went inside the staff were friendly and helpful the room was lovely and clean, could,nt fault it. Lovely breakfast, good value for money not many hotels have an iron and ironing board, walls a... More

Good location, able to get train to Manchester 30min or Liverpool 48min. But not the best we have been to. Old and tired sums up this place, it has seen better days.Breakfast was OK but went elsewhere for other meals

My wife and I have just returned having spent three nights over Easter at this hotel and we could not have asked for a better location to explore both Manchester & Liverpool which we managed to do by using the excellent local train service avoiding lots of unnecessary driving. The hotel room was well appointed with a very comfortable bed... More

We stayed at the hotel for two nights. First of all I would like to say that the staff were very polite and welcoming. The downside was the dirty state of the room. The main living area was clean enough, but when you started to look at the skirting boards and places like behind the toilet it was bad.The windowsills... More

We spent one night here on Valentine's day and found the place charming and unique. Check in was a breeze, with friendly staff that offered information about the local shops and local attractions. The night porter was particularly efficient, and dealt with any queries. Coming from Salford, we found the location to be quite convenient as it only took us... More

A group of us stayed at the Rhinewood for four nights while we were working at the Tattoo Tea Party in Manchester. We arrived after a long journey and the lovely Sally was very welcoming and accommodating. We felt at home straight away. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed, and even told... More
