We regretfully booked 2 nights here, one was bad enough. Receptionist devoid of any emotion. Room was small but adequate, however the damp was so bad that my fiances t shirt looked like he had been jogging for an hour and was wet (hung up.) They provide a very thin blanket, very cold during the first night that i barely... More

Short walk from town with plenty of free parking (we hired a car and drove from Penang). Helpful reception can help organise tours and onwards transport if you need. Had the best atmosphere of anywhere I stayed in Malaysia, with a cool "jungle bar", pool table and fire every night in the back yard. Wifi signal wasn't great in the... More

This is the first time I have ever left a review but I feel compelled to after staying here. It comes recommended by Lonely Planet, but they obviously haven't done their research. Where to start... well first, the rats! Couldn't sleep both nights I was here due to the rats running around the dorm. On the first night I was... More

Stayed in the more expensive dorm as the cheaper one was at capacity. Room was dirty and had a bad smell. One guy woke up to a rat on his leg. Could hear rats clawing at the walls all night long. Staff weren't particularly helpful, and some were down right rude (when asked about refilling the toilet roll, were told... More

For the price you pay cannot complain, a simple bed in dorm, hot showers, seating/chill out area where can meet people, a cool bar that is open late with a fire pit and a pool table, all in an amazing part of the world. Would stay there for sure.

After seeing the hostel on lonely planet a friend and I decided to stay here. The plus side is it is extremely cheap only 15RM for a dorm with a locker. However on arrival we were greeted by a very rude staff who I can only assume is Daniel, he was unhelpful shouted at us for moving our bags into... More

We enjoyed a very relaxing and comfortable stay at Kang Travellers Lodge. The rooms are simple but are equipped with everything one would need. The common area is very welcoming and we made new friends very quickly. The receptionist gives great recommendations on activities and the hiking trails. We especially liked the Jungle Bar and its bonfire. I would come... More

This place is really made for backpackers and travellers who are not needy.. It's really meant for people to connect and meet, they have so many social areas like the terrace the jungle bar the movie place etc! And they even have their own transportation company that is the same price as the buses but brings you directly to your... More

Dampness and mould everywhere, even the bed was damp, the whole building needs some serious renovation. The condition of this hotel could be excused if it were maybe 35-45 Ringgit but for 60 Ringgit per night its just not up to standard, especially since there are other hotels in Tanah Rata that are much nicer and cost less (Camlodge Hotel).... This hostel is all right. It works for backpackers on a tight budget but it would definately need some redecorating. It smells like sht and is very cramped in the upstairs dorm but the terrace is very big and nice. And cameron highlands is a nice place, well worth a visit. Just remember to bring some warmer clothes, because it... More
