Lovely B&B. Christina looked after a group of Morgan owners very well. Spacious rooms with lovely views - couldn't help but watch the llamas for an hour or so! A lounge for guests was a nice touch. Shame we were only staying for two nights - but a good excuse to return for a further visit to the area!

Any B & B with an abundance of books (both stacked on tables and in bookcases in the hallways) wins my vote... I already feel comfortable in a place that respects / encourages reading. But Christina goes SO FAR above that. Actually, even the dogs go above and beyond: When we arrived and there was no response from our ringing... More

Immediately upon arrival we were greatly impressed with the wonderful Farr Mains house, followed quickly by the sparkly, warm greeting from dear Christina who made us feel so very welcome. We were shown to our delightful room which had a slightly sloping ceiling giving us the lovely cosy feeling of pure comfort. Meals were all delicious, cooked with such inspiration... More

For many years we have visited Farr Mains , in Spring and Autumn, and such visits could not have been contemplated without the many kindnesses shown to my husband and myself by Mrs Murray. The excited anticipation we experience when approaching a visit to Farr Mains is second to none, and this anticipation is always well founded! Mrs Murray is... More

"Lama Farm from Hell" : is that the same Farr that we know, this man is writing about ? My husband and I have been going to Farr Mains for 6 years running. And not just for the stunning Highland scenery, but because the place ticks all the right boxes. From the moment we stepped over the threshold, Christina and... More

We have stayed at Farr as a couple and later with young children and have always received a very warm welcome from Christina and James. The house is very cosy with an open fire and is surrounded by breathtaking scenery. The full Scottish fry-up in the morning is a real treat and dinner is also excellent. Christina's hospitality is one... More

we had been dying to get to this part of scotland for a lifetime and finally made the trip from london, we were lucky to land in the laps of the lovely murrays in their delightful home. The part of the house we stayed in dated back to the 19th century, the furniture was antique and the rooms very comfortable... More

We’ve stayed at Farr Mains three times now – twice as young, free singles and once with our young family and each time it has been magical. On all occasions, we have been made to feel extremely welcome, have been fed home-made & often home-grown delights by the owners and have been engrossed in the history of the house &... More

Spent a couple of nights here in August, and thought it was the perfect base for exploring the city and the surrounding highlands. The room dated from the 1800's or something so was full of character, but most importantly was clean and inviting. Christina cooked a mean full fry in the morning and an amazing dinner in the evening, we... More
