A lovely b&b very friendly owners and an excellent breakfast. One of the most comfortable beds I have slept in away from home and has everything you need, ion a quiet location. Check out the local pub it also is a real gem !

I've stayed at OGC several times (and a couple of others in the area to begin with) and would never consider staying anywhere else. David, Alison and Fraser offer a very warm welcome and make you feel right at home, they're just naturally friendly people. Some places can do it, some just can't, the OGC has it in bucket loads.... Alison and David make you feel immediately at home in their home. The rooms are all beautifully presented, comfortable and clean. We stayed with them on our cycle from Land's End to John O'Groats and they couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. Their son kindly took our cycling clothes and returned them overnight cleaned, dried and folded. Breakfast was... More

We recently stayed with Alison and fanily for 2 nights. The Old Garden Cottage is like the Tardis! Our large double room and ensuite was spotlessly clean, with a huge comfortable bed which gave me the best nights sleep in ages! There is use of a comfy sitting room - full of reading material, films and games. Breakfast was superb... More

Having stayed mostly at Youth Hostels during our trip, we arrived having cycling 100 miles from Carlisle at the wonderful village of Straiton. We were immediately made very welcome as our bikes were locked away and we were given a cup of tea; as soon as we entered the cottage, we knew that we had struck gold with this B&B!... More

Nothing was too much trouble for Alison and David, we felt at home for the three days we stayed. Some good tips about where to go and where to eat made our trip even better. This part of Scotland is so lovely, please visit soon and stay here!
