We stayed here for one night in order to visit Oxford. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It's got really pretty surroundings with a Canal and a few chickens and ducks roaming around. There is free parking and also a little caravan park next to the pub/hotel. We went into Oxford which cost us £15 there and £20 back... More

The welcome we received at The Highwayman was lovely. Very friendly staff. The room was clean, the shower very good, beds very comfortable. We have two not so goods:- If you don't like Indian food, you have to eat very early in the evening. We were offered English food but only as we were being seated for an Indian meal.... More

I stayed at The Highwayman Hotel whilst visiting my son. Please note that My review is for a single room only, that is annexed from the main hotel. SERVICE - all the staff were very friendly and helpful. I didn't spend the evening in the bar, but I was greeted on my arrival and shown to my room by a... More

We arrived to find the room freezing cold and the radiators off, we turned them on but found nothing happened so the heating must have gone off (it was late in their defence). There was one hand towel, no other towels and lots of empty shower gel and shampoo bottles left loose on the floor of the shower. I woke... More

Location and food very good. Can be a bit noisy in bar in the evening. Bedrooms basic but comfortable. Easy access into Oxford town centre, approx. half an hour dependent on time of day. Nice walks along the canal which borders the hotel.

Almost cancelled our three night stay after reading other reviews, but it was the most convenient place for us to stay to visit family within walking distance! Upside was the great breakfast - rather too large and excellent quality. Full English was huge, so tried scrambled egg on toast next, but still too much! Downside was the room, which was... More

I visited this premises, as this has been the selected venue for our "works Do" a game of Aunt Sally with Bar B Que. I knew of it's reputation, but decided to keep an open mind and went along. On entering I went to the bar to order a pint of bitter ( Ale) and was shocked and amazed to... More

We stayed in the Highwayman Hotel as I was doing the Race for Life for Cancer Research and the hotel we usually stay in was fully booked due to a wedding. We were shown into a ground floor twin room near to the car park which was ideal as we had our dog with us. When I went into the... More

I visited the Highwayman pub for a birthday lunch with friends. The food was good however I was less than happy with the attitude of the manager. He was very rude and grumpy. I can safely say that not one of the 12 of us will be visiting this place again.
