Excellent accommodation and a very good breakfast in a handy location for the Ridgeway walk along the Chilterns. Location adjacent the Grand Union Canal gave it an interesting character. I'd recommend this B&B.

Maria and I stayed one night last week. Wish we could've stayed longer. Nice room, great fresh cooked breakfast, right next to the canal, nice local pub just up the road. Will be back soon. Thanks for a lovely stay. Bob

Beautiful location near the canal with swans swimming past. I could happily live in room 5 which had beautiful high ceilings and beams. Smelt fresh the minute I opened the door. Room was clean with modern country furniture. I had a warm feeling that I rarely get which signals to me 'home'. Initially I had been alarmed to find out... More

We stayed here with our grown up daughters and boyfriends for a wedding . New owners were very welcoming; they are working hard to make this a success/ great location on the canal - ideal for walks and exploring local area; brilliant breakfast and set us up well for the day

We were the first guests of the new owner and it looks very promising! I went with my 4-year old twin daughters and their godmother; we were given two connected en suite rooms which was very handy. One had twins beds and the other a double bed, perfect for a family. There was a lovely garden which my daughters made... More

On arrival at the Brownlow we saw a door marked reception and went in. On the table was a handbell which we rang. A voice from the interior shouted whose ringing that bell and when the lady came out she said rather huffily that we should have rung the bell outside (which we had not seen) and not come straight... I've said it all before. My wife and I stayed here again last weekend and have no hesitation in recommending it again. Sue and Eric are great hosts and the accommodation cannot be faulted. As for the breakfasts, wow ! We think the few people who posted adverse reviews of The Brownlows must have made a mistake. They were obviously... More

Having made a mess of our booking Sue rather bizarrely tried to blame us for it - would recommend getting email confirmation to avoid our experience. On arrival and while we were there she was rude and unhelpful. We decided to skip breakfast to avoid having to stay any longer than necessary. Room and bathroom were clean and pleasant if... More

This was our first visit to The Brownlow. We had booked a table for dinner at The Kings Head in Ivinghoe and didn't want to drive back home late at night. We arrived at The Brownlow at 4pm and were shown to our room which was delightful. A large room with double bed, 2 armchairs, wardrobe, TV, kettle with tea... More

This is our second visit to the Brownlow and it was just as good on the second visit. Lovely big room, nice and warm. Sue is friendly and welcoming and provides a lovely fresh and hot breakfast. Right on the edge of the canal. We like to stay here when having dinner at The Kings Head just a mile away.... More
