This was our first visit to The Brownlow. We had booked a table for dinner at The Kings Head in Ivinghoe and didn't want to drive back home late at night. We arrived at The Brownlow at 4pm and were shown to our room which was delightful. A large room with double bed, 2 armchairs, wardrobe, TV, kettle with tea... More

This is our second visit to the Brownlow and it was just as good on the second visit. Lovely big room, nice and warm. Sue is friendly and welcoming and provides a lovely fresh and hot breakfast. Right on the edge of the canal. We like to stay here when having dinner at The Kings Head just a mile away.... More

I stayed with my son as a half way point during a two day walk between Christmas and the New Year. Contrary to a couple of other reviews I found the hosting refreshingly good. The lady host (whose name I've forgotten - Sue I think) was direct (no nonsense) and pleasant, also very accommodating. the room was adequately sized (the... More

This B&B is well worthy of it's AA rating. Our hosts were helpful and very friendly and the accommodation matched good 4 star hotels and bettered many. Breakfast was excellent. Our room was one of several in converted stables once used for the horses of the bargees plying the adjacent canal.

Just stayed for the first time at The Brownlows. Fabulous location. Fantastic accommodation. Excellent hosts. Great attention to detail and no expense spared on the rooms. Breakfast was excellent too. Great canal walks on the doorstep, fantastic local pubs. Will definitely return. Phil and Julia.

A lovely location by the bridge leading to towpath walk along the Grand Union canal. Close to small village with nice pubs. Very good standard of accommodation, large, comfortable bed, spotless room with tea&coffee tray. Really nice, helpful owners. Only criticism would be the very early breakfast and check-out times which we've never found in the many other B&Bs/hotels we've... More

We stayed for three days with our 8 year old and loved it. Sue and Eric could not have been more warm and charming. The rooms are perfect. Clean, modern and comfortable. The beds are comfortable. There are loads of towels. And the view of the canal and the canal boats is just lovely. I am surprised at some of... More

There is no expense spared in the room decor here. It was so beautiful, a really special place to stay. The room was a treat. Old converted stables with gorgeous furniture, 100% white soft cotton sheets, high ceilings, beams, remote control skylight. Superb! Breakfast was everything u could want served at a large & lovely solid farmhouse table. Hostess helpful... More

This place offers a clean, adequate room with a comfortable bed & pleasant bathroom. The breakfast was fine. However, I have never yet come across such terrible hosting- being made to feel like the person you were paying was doing you a favour to let you stay- but they weren't happy about it. We stayed for a wedding & as... More

Sue and Eric's B & B has a lovely location by the side of the Grand Union canal, convenient for lovely walks or in my case painful runs ! My wife and I had a great room, which, have I think, have been converted from stables. Bed was comfy with a nice duvet and after a good nights sleep all... More
